Just picked up this M12 inspection camera from the pawn shop on my way home from work today. Came with charger and a battery, like new for $68! I'll chalk that up as a win. Been wanting one for a while now. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1455837594.436940.jpg

Picked up two sets of the 6 ton HF jack stands last night to use with my 4wd Tacoma.

Compared to my 4 ton Craftsman's:
jackstands 003.jpg

I've got those 6 ton HF jacks as well and really like them. They're very heavy and feel solid, but are also really tall. I have to jack my Jetta sky high for them.

They are tall, but is why I got them! If I do choose to use them on my El Camino rather than the 4 ton stands, I won't have to raise them much, if at all, and should add stability. Feel it's a win-win no matter how I look at it.

Tall axle stands are so much better, the extra space to work under a vehicle with tall stands is soooo good. I only use my short stands now as the first stage in getting a vehicle onto my tall ones.

Been looking for a good set of jumper cables without breaking the bank. Wasn't having much luck, everything cheaper was copper clad aluminum and the 100% copper cables were $$$$.

http://atdtools.com/7974

Found these on Jet.com and took advantage of their 15% off and free shipping so they ended up $83 and some change.

-100% copper and the outer coating is nice and flexible
-the anderson connectors are preinstalled so no screwing that up
-comes with a dust cover for the truck side that isnt in the picture and battery post extenders and other hardware

Will you please let us know how these cables are once they arrive?

I have also been searching all over the place looking for a decent set of cables and I have come to the same conclusions as you. The cables you posted above unfortunately seem "to-good-to-be-true". Two things are a dead give away that these are copper clad aluminum, and NOT 100% copper. Price, and weight. Sure, they claim them to be 100% copper, but the price is about half (maybe less than half) of true copper cables, and Amazon lists the weight of these as 11 pounds. True copper cables of this size and length would be roughly 3 times that weight.

Don't get me wrong, I hope you get exactly what you're looking for.... because if you do, then I will absolutely buy a set for myself. Unfortunately, the specs make it seem to good to be true. Let us know how they are when you get them in your hands. Thanks. :)

Just picked up a Rolgear ratcheting driver from Lee Valley. Made in Canada. d6534151c6868564615962b716896782.jpg

Looks interesting, I think I need one !
Question , if you have the time to answer: I'm looking at buying some different stuff (but also made in Canada) from Lee Valley only because I've dealt with them before and they are great, and have never ordered from Canada.....AFAIK Lee Valley is in the US and from your profile you are in Canada, yet you are buying Canadian stuff from USA. Is it better/cheaper for you to buy from the US ?

I got them today, fast shipping from jet for sure. They look and feel awesome, and feel rather heavy. The clamps are nice and look like they will hold up good. Other than peeling the cable and scraping the wire is there a good way to check to see if they are 100% copper? I dont wanna tear them apart too bad.

I would love to give ATD the benefit of the doubt, the few other products I have bought from them have been 100% as advertised.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0030D0SF6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Here is a link to another set of 100% copper cables albeit shorter and 12 gauge. They are confirmed in the reviews that they are 100% copper, but only $20, and only 1.9 lbs, lol.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0030D0SF6/?tag=atomicindus08-20

Here is another 100% set for $90 that weighs 10.2.

Under the questions, someone confirmed they are 100% copper.

I have been interested in those, you got a snap-on to compare it to ?

Unfortunately no. I would like to check one out, but have yet to have a chance. My gut-feeling after using this one is that the handle is unlikely to hold up to grease/oil very well, but I could be totally wrong. As for durability of the moving parts,I really have no clue: I figure that the "bearing and cam" mechanism it uses is totally different from a conventional ratcheting one. Plus side is that it was only $13 CAD.

Looks interesting, I think I need one !

There's actually a Lee Valley in London Ontario. I live a couple hours away from there, but took the GF up to see some family. She bought this driver for me as a thank you. I do actually buy a lot of stuff from the US though, mostly from Amazon.com, and have it shipped to a friend in Michigan. It's a lot cheaper when our dollar was worth more at least!

Thanks for your quick reply fixed ! Yeh , hear you on the exchange rates. At the end of the day I suppose it all works out with what you want to buy vs what you are prepared to spend. Awesome GF who would buy you that - according to GJ rules officially a "Keeper" but I am sure you must already know that.

FWIW- I went to the States earlier this year , and by the time I paid sales tax on the purchases , it would have been very close to the same or cheaper to buy online , pay shipping and pay import thingy money stuff all the way from Australia ( our taxes dion't kick in straight away for an import ) :Homer:

Yeah, she's a keeper all right - my toolbag, welder, and Knipex pliers wrench are all recent gifts from her, I'm lucky as hell!

That's crazy. I watched the exchange rate pretty closely, if I'm not saving more than a few bucks, it's not worth buying it in the 'States and bringing it across the border, IMO, but for some reason a lot of stuff is just way more money in Canada... last week I ordered some Dewalt flap discs, they were like $3US from Amazon.com, or $13 (!!!) CAD from Amazon.ca. Plus I have to pay sales tax when I buy them from .ca, so it's a no-brainer to get them in the US, even with the exchange rate.

Those Rolgears are awesome drivers... The mechanism is smooth!! I sent one to a buddy in the States and he was impressed with the craftsmanship!!
Yeah, I really like it so far. It's almost weird to have so little resistance, and no sound when using it. Made in Canada is just a bonus [emoji106]

Body kit I ordered awhile ago came in!!

20160218_163338_resized.jpg

Metric/Sae tape measure, and new green led light,

20160218_163351_resized.jpg

I decided to get some screwdrivers too, grabbed a pack that had a rip in the plastic because I would be opening them anyway...

Then when I got home I noticed it was ripped because a driver was missing...

20160218_163359_resized.jpg

Turns out he had previously taken it out to replace a single spot on the truck display!!

phillips.jpg

Now I have to go pick it up tomorrow, and that will end up costing me!! I did get two more free pairs of socks, that is about 8 pairs now!!

Today I took Snap On Clint some promo stuff from work, handful of pens, aluminum travel coffee mug, and $80 bucks in gift certificates from a great Italian restaurant in town...

We provide music and messages on hold for the restaurant and they give us gift certificates instead of money...

He was sure pumped up about it, going to take his wife on one of their date nights!!

So "Monster" tools really exist! What is their relationship with Mac? I thought they were to be a new independent dealer. If their tools could be found easier or at all, they'd make a killing with all the green stuff they have.

Nice light.

Wife and I swung by our local Sears outlet two weekends ago in anticipation of our move to a new house last weekend. She got a new couch and I got this :)

189.99 for the black set and I added a red middle for 29.99.

And they brought the boxes with the couch delivery so I didn't have to move them twice. Win-Win!!

Nice setup Tim. Much nicer than what I started out with.

Be careful not to load that top box up too heavy or leave more than one drawer open at a time though! Top boxes LOVE to see if they can learn to fly.

My Mac dealer told me that Monster only sells to tool distributors. He said these have been on back order and I bought the last one he had and they're already on back order again.

I thought that was funny too. Had to read it several times before I figured out what it was trying to say.

I've gotten a lot of other stuff since I started the new job. I'll get more pics soon.

This is my clever signature.

Indestro 1/2" ratchet, and Grey 3/8" speed handle. Used, in decent shape. Ratchet, after a cleaning and lube, is really smooth.

1280 resistors. eBay cheapo's, but for fooling around they will be fine.

The red box came with some very short bolts and nuts. I was thinking about drilling a few holes in the bottom of the top box and the top of the middle box and bolting them together but I haven't decided yet.
