Hey guys check this out. Its a1985 CUCV M1009 Military Blazer with a 6.2 diesel with a Banks Turbo on it. I did a tremendous amount of work on this truck and I have it on eBay for a customer. Its one heck of a hunting machine!!

Nice. That dash is amazing. What kind of power does that military diesel put out with the Banks kit? I know they were pretty lame in stock form.

I could walk faster than the non-turbo 6.2!! They say it gives it 60 more HP.

Ok guys I have looked a quite a few cars for our resto mod project and decided to pull the trigger last week. I had decided to buy as nice of a car as I could get my hands on. Last week a car caught my eye and I decided I was going to buy it. I really liked the owner and I purchased it sight unseen. We went up and grabbed it a few days ago and WOW the car was a lot nicer than I thought. It has had one paint job on it since new. This car unbelievably solid. Yes there might be a little something hiding but it can't be much if there is anything. 53K miles. Original 318 motor, original interior, factory air, automatic.... paperwork, build sheet......just a nice car. I almost feel guilty wanting to put a hemi in this car. I am a car builder but this ugly color is growing on me. What do you guys think.........I almost feel unAmerican doing this but I guess its all about the value when its done. I did get a shot of it with a brand new 2016 Hellcat today..........

WOW, I think that's a great car. I like the color ( for some reason) and the fact that it is a convertible is even better. IMO I like the car as it sits and think it would make a nice cruiser with some upgraded suspension and brakes.

Nice, it's very Nash Bridges.

It is right out of the 70's for sure!!

I like it to but the customer does not like it. He wants it triple black. Don't know enough about these but I do the the convertible is special. The 318 motor is nothing special and doesn't give the car any great pedigree. No matter what the convertibles are expensive!!

I say go for it! It's nothing special or rare. It's matching numbers but a plain Jane car...so who cares! It will be bad *** when it's done and will be nice to work with a clean solid car.

Mark, the customer is always right and if they are paying for the work, it's their call. From your perspective, the extra cost of a pretty pristine classic should actually save money. If you were starting with a rusted hulk, you could easily spend tens of thousands on parts and hundreds of hours of labor to get a low-priced abandoned project car to this point.

I mean, it's not like you're cutting up a Lamborghini!:lol_hitti

Can't wait to see it come together!

I wouldn't say car is anything special. It's just a really nice, clean car that would make project especially being a convertible. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Well said Bob. I am sure whatever Mark does will impress us.

It would not be the first Lamborghini Mark cut up

I like the Hellcat, but just a bit too pricey in my opinion.

Hey guys. Thanks for all of your support. Yes it is the customer choice and I am very excited to put a Mopar under our belt. I must say there is truth to Toolfool's comment and when looking at the car thought of buying it back and selling it and then buying another project, felt guilty of doing this to a car.....however.............we are going to proceed with our plan to restomod the car. It will be done in a very respectful way and we are not going to seriously alter the car (other than the hottub in the trunk:lol:) I am meeting with the owner tomorrow and will let you guys in on the plan.

Thank you as always for your care and concern:D

Hey guys sorry for my neglect. I don't have an office manager right now so I am really ******* it at the office. I have had a few more projects come in and looks like I need to share them. I promise I will this week. For now I had an interview last week with a local TV station and they did a story on the shop. It was lots of fun and I hope to get copies of it I can show you.

I have the 63 Corvette up for sale. Its not something I want to sell but at some point it needs to go because I have a tremendous amount of money in the car. I have been taking it to many shows and people really love it.

Ok guys I will bring you up to date on the shop.

71 Challenger has the interior out and Jessee just finished stitching up the seats. I know the interior is suppose to be last but we are using black leather so there was no harm it getting the seats out of the way. I bought a console out of a 2016 Challenger and we are going to use it. Before you wonder what the heck I am doing please know we will not be using it as is. It is a head start on the real console. We will be adapting it to look like it belongs in the car......dont ask me how because I haven't gotten that far yet.:headscrat
We had intended on putting a new 6.1 Hemi in it but the owner doesn't want to spend the $20K to make this happen. We do need to at least get rid of the 318 so maybe a 440? Kind of still mulling this around too.

I know we are suppose to be a hot rod shop but we do have a Mercedes project going on right now.:) It is a 430 Convertible a young lady inherited from her grandfather. She ready loved him a lot so she has decided to refresh the car. We are doing a color change on the paint job, new top, custom interior, crazy audio system, and so on and so forth.........basically spending about $27K on the car. I don't know what it is about us but we love to the apart perfectly good cars.

1965 Buick Riviera In the last 4 months I have seen 3 Riviera's in the shop. For some reason I am seeing more of these cars around. Maybe I haven't paid much attention to them but I am growing to really like them. We are doing a color change, custom interior, tires and wheels, and a killer stereo.

We have a 1940 LaSalle, 1963 Lincoln convertible, 73 Camaro, 57 Cadillac, and a few others in the shop so we are busy.

Those Riviera's are a little different but still look pretty sporty all in all. I'm sure when you are done it'll look amazing. Feel free to share as much and as often as you'd like.

Hi Mark,

I just finished reading your whole thread. I found it last night and saved it for today. Great Story and thanks for sharing. I have one question... there was a picture of a F-1 in one of the first vehicle pics, (Post #202). I never saw another mention of that truck. I love those trucks and that one has a great stance. Keep up the great posts.

The Ford F1 was something I built for fun but it didn't last long!!

Here is an interesting project.......new C7 Corvette painted Lambo Orange and obviously the owner wanted the lambo doors installed. We did it today.:D I know this modification isn't for everybody but the project was fun. We saved the hinges just in case he got tired of the doors. You have to be a real man to close the doors because of the pressure to hold the doors up.

I can only read this thread once in a while because of the drool factor produced and dribbling all over the keyboard.

Mark......your cars are just over the top.....each and every one of them. I watch the builds you do, and I keep watching Discovery Channel or Velocity to see if they come out with a new show featuring GodSpeed Rides. It would be an outstanding show for sure.

If you are looking for a 440 for the Challenger, my neighbor has a camper that he is going to part out and it has a 440 in it. I know that he'd sell it, but I don't know what it would be worth. I know that you would rebuild it anyways, but this ran when parked a few years back.
