Maybe I'm missing something, let me know if I'm off but gas powered compressors usually sell for way more money. Although it does looks well used, Even HF sells a smaller one for $500.

Gas Powered belt driven Twin Cylinder Compressor - $125 (Topanga, CA)

"Nice twin cylinder air compressor powered by a 5 hp Craftsman engine. Starts right up and works fine. $125 obo. Tank size is about 10 - 12 gallon."

Possible gold nugget here in a pile of stuff. An estate sale in San Francisco (of all places) has a $100 tool cabinet listed-- I think it's a Snap-On, not sure?

Good eye Larry,

I believe that is a vintage (1947-1950's) Snap-On KB 300b or a KR 431 Rolla-Bench. Enlarge the attached catalog pic below.

That would be a good score for $100. Too bad they're asking too much for the 3/4hp Baldor grinder.

Not sure how great of a deal it is but if I were back home this weekend I would have both of these....

Not sure it's the best deal ($250 each) when considering for a little more money you may be able to find a Lista/Vidmar but they are nice looking and can be very useful for the right person.

You typically see these selling for around $150ish and sometimes free but they usually come in grey or beige. Another issue with this particular box is nothing 36" wide or long will fit in the drawers. These cabinets are typical wider to accept 36" drawings.

You also have to be careful with the these as they were made for lightweight items and the metal thickness is thin/flexy. They're mostly are intended for architectural drawings, maps and art paper. They can be extremely useful and practical if you have a massive amount of small items to store and organize that are light weight but Filling them up with tools is not good. These are not Lista's.

Another option if you're up to making your own custom cabinets is a guy in Kansas City, MO selling 24 Lyon (vidmar/lista) drawers for $250 all of them ($10/drawer). It includes the slides.

They would be awesome if your making built-in's in your shop. The slides are very easy to install into cabinets. 24 drawers of that size would give you a massive amount of storage.

24 Lyon Industrial Tool Cabinet Drawers W/Slides - $250 (Kansas City, MO)

"24 Lyon drawers with slides ( 32" x 23" x 4.75" )"

Stanley Vidmar Open Drawer/pullout shelves Cabinets - $150 (Toledo, OH)

Not the typical Vidmar drawer cabinet but I have several friends who really love these for storing big items and tool cases. These are not easy to find or common.

400 lb rated ball bearing drawers/shelves that pull out all the way. Looks like their is several of them available.

I'll bet they hold 400 lbs each-- the amount of steel on the shelf in macgee's second photo is wild.

I would submit that sometimes a great deal is good enough.

Since the compressor above came and went, here's another one but the next size down.

Ingersoll-Rand T10-33 Compressor - $100 (Wildomar, CA)

I believe this a 3HP 20-30 gallon tank with a twin cylinder, two stage pump. I think it will do 11CFM/90PSI which is pretty good for $100.

"Ingersoll-Rand compressor Runs on 220volt. Older model T/10. Model #T10330P1 Tag says it was built in 1986. Dual piston compressor. I think the tank is around 30 gallon. Just put a new start capacitor on the motor. Runs good. Asking $100 Call "

Craftsman drill press with the vari-slo option on an old school stand- only $100 bucks! ALso has one of those cool old work lamps attached.
Someone should go get this

http://nwct.craigslist.org/for/5531126250.html

If that deal was near me, I would be all over it! Bargain price for a quality old tool.

I would be all over it, a GJ member who is close by better go get it soon; it won't last long. The Vari-slo option is desirable.

Nice find dngrmse!

Powermatic Burke Millrite Mill, $1000 (Hemet, CA)

While not the cheapest deal for a mill, it is a very desirable american made knee mill for garages as it's about 40% smaller than a Bridgeport mill. It's a better mill than the high priced Rockwell mill and about the same size. It's not easy to find good small mills so prices stay high. Put a VFD on it to get variable & low speeds. I think this one has the optional 8" x 36" table.

He wants it gone this week (I think he maybe a dealer) but you might be able to negotiate a better price after checking it out.

It has the preferable R8 collet and the NOD head. Hopefully the autofeed is a easy fix. Check for table wear, runout and backlash.

"Cleaning out the shop of used equipment.
Burke Millrite Milling Machine
True knee mill with R8 spindle taper
220v 3phase
Has a servo power feed, not currently working. Missing a brush for the motor. Worked before transport but brush fell out.
Table is in good shape.
Nice palmgren milling vise
Currently has power and runs. Machine is in fair condition.
Perfect small shop or home mill
Includes 1 collet and some used end mills
Looking to move this week
$1000 Cash and have forklift to assist with loading. These don't come up for sale often. Just needs a good cleaning and lubrication.

And a beefy 5 inch Parker on a swivel base for $125 up in the wine country (Napa, CA.)
Probably weighs in at about 100 pounds.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/tls/5537633635.html

Shiftless,

That one actually measures out to 4 1/2" jaw width and weighs in around 76 lbs.

The model is most likely a No. 974½

Comes out under $2.00/pound which is good now a days for price, not bad. They sell for more on eBay. If the jaws and backlash are good, it's definitely a good everyday user size for a shop. The deal would be better if it had the C. Parker swivel wrench.

Agreed!
But the listing said that the jaws were 5 inches wide and if a Craigslist seller says it is 5 it MUST be 5 right? No C/L seller ever lies or even exaggerates do they?
