What did you do "IN" your garage today?

My neighbor was throwing out this abused and neglected wheel barrow. I thought I'd try and save it from the landfill. I didn't know how bad it was until I pressure washed and dried it out first (it was full of gross black water). I was also hoping it was some old school wheel barrow but it turned out to be the avg True Temper. Nonetheless $50 (handles, wheel/tire and paint) and a bit of elbow grease later I think I'll get a few projects worth of use out of it for sure. It also gave me a chance to use my table saw to cut the new wedges for under the tub.

Note to self: Lemon juice works way better than vinegar for rust removal. The bolts etc came out looking almost brand new after a 48hr soak in the lemon juice. I should've taken before/after pics it was like magic.

Looks good! How much gardening are you really going to use it for, though? Looks like most of your yard is made out of plastic...

Looks great, nice job except you need to rotate the metal strap at the lower end of the handles (by the tire) 90* so that it is across the end of the handles. That piece of metal takes the abuse when you tilt the wheelbarrow forward off of it's tire to empty it.

No pictures, but I replaced the passenger side CV axle shaft in my Z71. I also replaced the parking brake shoes. They still need some adjusting, but just not enough hours in the day.

Cleaned the pieces of glass from my fish tank top and replaced one of the handles that was broken on one. Amazing how much light gets blocked by a little film of evaporated water. The plants should be a lot happier now.

Replaced the 6 year old battery in my wife's car. Usually try to catch it at 5 years before it goes bad - missed it this time.

Bizarro - besides the obvious starter click when trying it, there were lights flashing, some relay clicking, things I've never seen before - even when the ignition was off.

Didn't get a whole lot done last night. I was going to wash my Jeep when a horrific wind and rain storm moved through. Oh well, at least I was able to scrounge up some supplies from my scrap bins to build a couple of argon backer boxes and a purge box. Now I just have to find some time to actually fabricate them.

Ordered some perforated stainless steel today for them and some silicone hose to connect to my Argon purge valve.

Yet another oil change (4th different vehicle since getting the lift already ) and a tire rotation on my moms 4Runner.

Cleaned up that ugly wire run feeding the lift with some conduit after that, too.

Thank you, I thought about it but it didn't fit based on where the holes were predrilled, I'll just get another piece of steel, bend, drill and bolt it on.

Removed the inner panel from the entrance door to our coach this evening and cleaned, tightened and re-lubed all of the pivot points. It has been acting suspicious lately and not unlocking with the key fob consistently so I figured I had a bit of free time this evening so I would investigate and repair.

Works like a charm again, hell even better than we bought it nine years ago.

Last night I cleaned and repacked the left trailer wheel bearings, just so I can keep it on the tires until the new bearings come in. Definitely overdue for service!
This afternoon, before work I changed the spark plugs on my Saturn and tried to change the rear oxygen sensor but after a few tries with the breaker bar just soaked it in Kroil. Will try again in a few days. I also investigated the hood latch problem and found the spring for the main catch hook failed. Will need to make a new one next week when I work at my second job.
Thought about doing more but ran out of time.

Worked on Mom's wood chipper, spit the C-Hina brand ("Good Yuse") belt, has a Gates Hi Power now

Just have to align the engine (gas burner crankshaft sits cockeyed to the chipper shaft) and run a set of wrenches around it (it's due for some affection ).

Finally half way wired up my reverse lights in my LOD bumper. Now I just need to figure out where to put the switch :/ Center dash has my ARB compressor switch and front fogs right beneath it. Then down on the center console is where I wired my lockers.

I also installed a $9 amazon backup camera and hooked it up to my Kenwood DNX7100

Set it up so that they come on in reverse, and on their own via switch. I had that on my F150 and it was great! Was able to see when backing, and for trailer work at night, I had all the light I could ask for.

I got started cleaning up my Jimmy 302 valve assemblies. To make sure things didn't get messed up, I did them one at a time. All assemblies stayed together, in order, that way. Valves were cleaned with wire cup in air angle grinder. Valves, springs, caps, pedestals, keepers, pushrods and lifters then spent a half hour in the parts washer soup. Finally, the same items 'cept pushrods (too big to fit) had a half hour in the Eastwood vibratory tumbler with green cutting media, water and Metal Wash. By the end of the day and the end of the three Old Dominion Oak Barrel Stouts. I was half done.

They're solid lifters, not hydraulic. Otherwise, I would be.

Personally, I would not have tumbled the lifters. Now they'll have to reestablish a "mate" with the lifter lobes.

Yesterday I finished plumbing the metal pipe for my air system in the shop.
I put in 1-1/4" pipe up to the roof peak and into a manifold. The metal pipe will supply an air powered lift, a 1/2" hose reel with a high flow connector to drive the 3/4" impact and a 3/8" hose reel for working on everything else.
From the manifold at the peak of the roof the metal pipe goes from 1-1/4" metal pipe to 3/4" pvc. I did have 1/2" pvc because my previous compressor couldn't produce enough volume for bigger pipe. Now Im going with 3/4" pvc with T's that are 3/4 through but the T is 1/2" so all the work benches will have plenty available air. Im hoping I can get rid of all the air hoses that end up snaked across the floor.
Right now Im waiting on some moister filters to put in right before the hose reels, and a roll of 1/2" copper pipe to make an air cooler with. I want to put the cooler inbetween the pump and the tank to keep moisture out of the tank. I saw it on youtube.
The change Im making is Im adding a check valve after the pump so when the head dumps pressure in order to start it wont empty pressure in the 50' roll of 1/2 copper.

You keep your fish in the garage? Me too! I have a 120 and a 110. Got the beerarator in the garage too. Sometimes I just enjoy a cold one while I watch my tanks, it relaxes me.
