Added this little guy to my IR collection:

Very very lightly used from eBay for just over $100. Couldn't turn it down. I had no idea 3/8 drive were this small, I'm actually very excited!

The previous owner had no thread sealant and the fitting was loose. But it still bogs down on my little 1/4 air line. Looks like I'll need a 3/8 for this little guy too.

MWEric, can we see a pic of that Snap On Impact Set unboxed. Is it 3/8 and 1/2 plus SAE and metric?

Sorry bout the delay.

Thanks for the additional pics. That answers my question. I was wondering if it came in one big tray or it came in the individual sets. You got a smokin deal on those at 1/2 the price in the flyer. I'll bet Strouty is even jealous of that discount.

Yup, my dealer is good, but not that good. My buddy has a different dealer and his price would be $999, it amazes me the fluctuations in prices.

Used to have an awesome Snap On dealer. My dad bought tools from him in the 90's and I started buying from him 2001. He retired and moved years ago though and now we can't seem to keep a dealer long at all. I think 5 or 6 guys in the last 4 years. The only advantage is you get the deals when a new guy is just starting and the reps are still riding with him and then you get the deeper deals when they are on there way out and trying to get off "tool hold". Its sad because I think it would be a blast to be a SO dealer but second guess it with the constant failure of the route.

Unfortunately there are more losers than winners in that game. No driver in my area, hasn't been for years. I've been using a guy from a different area for the last year or so. He was an established guy and is going under now. I feel bad for him because he is a nice guy.

Picked up this. :rocker:
Are you going to be using it for auto repair by chance? I'd love to hear your thoughts (after using it a bit) about how well it works for that. I was looking at it, but didn't like the lack of hooks or flexible magnets/magnetic base.

The battery life and light output is incredible though!

Your new epiq is beautiful, sir. Is that in your house? :p

Have the same dead blow hammer and also love it. It is a cornwell but looks exactly like the one you bought.

Yup, they used to be at work but I'm moving so it has to be shipped with the rest of my household stuff from Hawaii back to Florida. Only complaint I have about the box is the latches are made of plastic, they haven't broken yet but I will still have a machine shop make replacements when I get back.

Also a nice jacket.
When I got on I asked how you got the apparel and he said spend 50 for hat 100 for shirt and 300 for jacket. The creeper and mat were 140 together and he asked me what my size was for all of it and said thanks for your business. Pretty cool snapon guy.

Picked up a set of dimple dies from TMR customs. The sizes are 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2". I tested one out on some 1/8" steel and it worked great.

Wednesday is Snap-On day at my shop, got a coolant pressure tester and my dealer was selling the new 1/4 super long handle flex head ratchets for $90 if we had an old junky ratchet to give him in place of it.

My dealer was doing the same deal but it was $50 off the retail price if you trade in an old ratchet. He gave me the same deal on a 3/8 flex head so I paid $75 for it.

That's weird, I've never heard of having to trade in an old ratchet as part of the deal...
My dealer was selling TLLF72's for $80. Maybe he was a little overwhelmed with having 100 shipped to him, I dunno. He's awesome though, really great guy.

The ratchet trade deal must be something promoted by the factory. In 20 years in the the shop, I've never had any tool dealer (out of 7 or 8 I've worked with) ASK for trade-ins on any hand tools. They'd consider a trade if you asked, but none of them ever WANTED used tools.

Co-worker brought in some of his chains, one of them being a 3/8"x30' chain. He didn't want it that long and wanted to cut it down. I told him the K12 saw would cut it with the steeel blade. He told me if I cut it down and move the hook to the shorter section, I could have the other section.

Deal. I now have a new section of 3/8" chain 15' long with new hows for less than $15.

He also needed another chain fixed. He bought the repair link and I'm going to weld it today.

I remember years ago I had a dealer do the same deal with cordless impacts. Trade in an old air impact and get a certain amount off a new cordless. I already had the cordless but my boss had a some old broken impacts lying around so he traded one in.

Bought a 20" Phillips from Tekton to help with springs on Kenworth drum brakes. $7 instead of $60 for an actual tool made for the job. We'll see how it works
