Hey guys! Been a long time lurker and finally glad I get to start my own build. Bought my first house at 25 years old this past year and been wanting a shop for working on my hot rods in since I was a little kid. My property has a 45x132 pole building that is set up for horses so I didn't want to disturb that, and the 3 car garage with the house only has 8ft ceilings in it which don't work for me because I want a lift. So here we are! Monday evening, I cleared trees and got the site as ready as possible.

Tuesday morning the package arrived and we drilled holes and waited for the building inspector to come sign off on them.

Then Wednesday the post got sunk and started framing.

Thursday and Friday were a **** show weather wise, storming most of the day so progress was slow. Today the trusses are up and by the end of today all of the perlins should be done and it should be ready for roofing and siding by tomorrow.

I have to give a huge shout out to Charlie Robinson of pioneer pole buildings. He's been great to work with so far and his crew is really busting some *** on this project.

Sounds like a cool project. I had pioneer put up a pole barn for me they are a good co. to work with. Where are you located? You should also ask that this be moved to the garage gallery section. Also had to have my holes inspected.

How did you calculate the bottom of the building Elevation?
ex distance from ground to bottom of lowest girt, are you doing stone then concrete, insulation for radiant heat ect?
I am starting clearing for my 30x40x16 project and have lots of questions.

Nothing too new to report. I had 60 tons of fill dirt delivered yesterday. Time to start bringing the grade up inside and in a few low spots around the outside.

Lines cut, working on stone work now. Lots of leveling left to do. Coming along though. Get to find out how much electric is going to cost me this week. Moved my horse pasture back do there's 40 ft between the barn and fence, which i plan to level off and finish stoning to park my trailers, truck, tractors, etc.

I'm curious why you said this?

"Apparently my build thread *****, but I'll update anyways."

Is this a pioneer or did you build it? I missed it.

Looks great, nice job.

Building looks great! Not many people realize how much work goes into a building like this even though you hired out the main building, for instance site prep and all the finishing touches. Looks like you have a nice piece of land.

I may be reading wrong from the picture but the stone looks like washed 3/4". If you order more, I would recommend the 3/4 minus "crush and run" for the drive & parking lot as it will pack together alot better with the fines present. More traction is a side benefit.

Great barn btw!

Been so busy lately I hadn't even has time to park anything inside since the concrete has cured. So today I brought a couple things in just to get a feel for it. Hoping to start wiring soon.

This is relevant to my interests. I'm trying to decide what kind of 30x40 building I want to go with when I do pull the trigger. What's the tab on this so far, and what will it run to once it's all said and done?

Building looks great so far. Are you planning on insulation?

Thanks ya! It will be insulated and sided inside once electric is done. Building itself ran me 17k total for materials and labor to put it up. I got a lot of extras with it though, it could've been a lot cheaper. Concrete was another 4k. Not sure what I'll have wrapped up in electric and finishing it. Assuming 30k total start to finish but not entirely sure, just going along as I can afford to.

Looks great! Couldn't agree more with your thoughts on Pioneer and the Robinsons. We had Reggie, Charlie's brother, as the crew leader of our 42x48x14 barn construction a couple years ago. Like you, slowly finishing it as time allows. Sounds like I'm not too far from ya, just over in Ottawa Lake.

No huge updates. It's been extremely cold here so I haven't done anything moving forward with shop progress really. I did hang my lights today and fired them up to see how they looked...man they exceeded my expectations 100% these had great reviews online so I ordered 15 of them from rural king. 12 for the shop 3 back ups to tuck away. When I got off the ladder and flipped these on it was like looking at the sun. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a call from air traffic controls if I run these at night with my doors open. Very very happy with the light output. A buddy stopped by and we moved everything out of the building as the floor is getting epoxy coated in the morning. I also picked up one of my lifts (9k 4 post) still have to go get the 2 post. Planning on putting them up as soon as the floor cures.

Got the epoxy floor done today, clear coat tomorrow and then I get to watch it dry for a few days. Hoping by Sunday to start assembling one of my lifts.
