Just binge-read this. Love the craftsmanship from design to build. Inspiring.
Tip on the LEDs is to run 24V LEDs instead of 12V to reduce the current by half and tolerate voltage drops better. Otherwise, run home runs to LED driver for every so many feet. I like to run lots of it, high lumen, high CRI stuff. Not all LED is the same. Get the aluminum channel from Amazon to help with heat dissipation and mounting. Too bright? Well run it on a Magnitude dimmable LED driver/transformer.
just finished binge readying the entire thing while I'm stuck on my Navy ship in the Bahamas while everyone else is out enjoying the island.
Absolutely amazing attention to detail. I have the same HF box, and for the money, definitely worth it. Too shall for my taste, but works pretty well. (got mine used). I also have an older Snap On classic 55" box, and if you are not doing serious wrenching or dont need the depth of a "big name" box, the HF boxes are great.
Enjoy the garage, as I know you will. I'm a huge BMW road race guy, was hoping to see a decked out e92 M3, but it appears that your BMW is mostly a DD/weekend cruiser. Love the e92s.
Have fun!
Maybe I missed it but will you explain why you selected Open Cell Spray for the ceiling? Anything special used on the Roof Decking?
Cheers
Nitro: i also like the floor sweep idea. any chance if you get a minute can you open the cabinet with the floor sweep in it and take a few pictures to show us how it looks installed? i tend to agree with others that PVC piping might work better for the collection, but maybe try not to put any big stuff in there and your design will probably work fine for years.
looking forward to seeing pictures of your stainless top getting installed on your old doors for your bench top.
WELL DONE!!
BTW did i miss the post where you had put the new engine back in your BMW or did you yet?
holly guacamole .... just wow.... keep up the good work.
Can you talk about your custom SS top (acquisition, fabrication, and install)?
That's a lot of tool storage, if you have enough tools to fill those 5 boxes then you've got more tools than anyone I know.
Became a member on here to to give you kudos on your shop's construction. As i swiped from page to page I would make a mental note of something to compliment on, but pretty much everyone has already beat me to praising you on your progress. Love it.
One question, What are your plans for the Compressor?
I'm in the Paint and Body field and all I can think installing in my personal garage would be a giant 80 gallon+ machine, and would dread having that thing inside of my actual workspace considering it'd be so loud.
Couple questions:
1.) Do you have issues with the doors/drawers being that close in the corner?
2.) Did I miss something or how is the vacuum setup? Do you just have it attached to a shop vac or how is that setup?

Good old JB will fill the spaces between those welds. Once it sets up you can grind it flat. My son's buddy is a body and paint guy, he says they use it all the time at work.
My brother in law told me learning to weld sheet metal was the hardest to do. He learned welding from working on the family farm. I tend to over heat sheet metal and have it warp out of shape.![]()
Lots of excellent details. That lighting is a nice touch.
Are you putting in audio or TV for the occasional sports program!?
Thanks for the thread - very inspirational!

Where did you get the plastic tube that houses the lights?
Will the outdoor kitchen updates be posted here or somewhere else? What about further house upgrades?
Nice build, do you do this for a living nitro3421?
