Like Outlaw said, ''eye of the beholder''.---I think my 208R is prettier than that thing.

I thought i was the only one that browsed etsy for vises. Still looking for that hand stitched vise made from yarn![]()

ALL: so a new member NCBOAT asked me for some help and advice on a 150 pound 6 inch jaw with STUDEBAKER's name on it. He didn't end up buying it at the auction even though giving it a good try and price went north of $1300.
anybody buy it? also any information on who made it or it's history?
Here is my 20 dollar screw up for the week. Saw an add for a steel bench on CL for 100 with this and a pipe vise. THe add had been up for a few weeks so I shot the guy a 20 dollar offer on this. Its far worse than it looked in the pictures. Broken and welded dynamic jaw and some small chips out of the sides of the jaw. Didn't walk away, maybe should have.
Well all's fair I suppose.---You out sniped me on the rotating head bicycle vice.---I don't know weather you are a better shot or just faster on the draw, but I still loose sleep over that one.

Ya know, I've been thinking about that, and I love that bicycle vise, top 5 in my collection, for sure, but...
That one weird "hot cut vise" (or whatever it is), is still my most prized vise "possession"...
Take care, Sir!
Mike
At a price point of 200 and below would it be better to buy a Wilton or reed or another vise brand. Swivel would be nice but not needed it needs to be the most durable as I don't want to buy again.

Is that a hollands? Its hard to tell with all the garbage welded to it
OK gentlemen, I am taking facts, fiction, guesses and opinions on this one...
My "guess" is a "hot cutter for rod or bar", any ideas? Ever seen another like it?
Thanks,

Picture of it?!?
And this might be my new favorite...
I have seen 100's of railroad track anvils, but this is the first railroad track Vise I have come across... The rear jaw was dovetailed and hot fit (I assume) on to the anvil end. I couldn't pass this one up...
