saw zaw ?
People that aren't very knowledgeable, refer to all reciprocating saws as Sawzall's (Milwaukee). The one in the ad is a Porter-Cable reciprocating saw.

Reminds me of the time a guy put on a job application he was experienced at using a radio arm saw.

I used to work at a store that sold auto parts. Never failed the 'man' would send the 'old lady' to us to get parts. I was asked for 'Championship' aka Champion spark plugs, and AC Deldo aka AC Delco, spark plugs

if anyone is motivated to sell something at least they would include a good description and a model number.

Yah well look at how literally half of the people who sell their Camaro's spell it "Camero". I don't have one but have always loved them from 67-73. It bugs the hell out of me.
How can you have a car with it written on the side or back and not know how to spell it.

I mean come on how many of us drive Shevrolays or Phords.

Years ago, a crew came to my house to replace my A/C units and gas furnaces. The next day their supervisor called me and said "One of my guys left his Sawzall in your attic." Well, at that time I'd never heard of a "Sawzall," they weren't that common among homeowners. I told him "I don't understand that word you're saying - it sounds like saw saw. What is that?" He didn't know how to describe it, he just kept repeating the word. Finally I asked him "Is it a power tool of some kind?" Anyway I went up in my attic and found it, and then I knew what a Sawzall was. I still don't own one myself.

My favorite part about the original ad was the inclusion of "&" to porter cable. A good friend and I go back and forth all the time ridiculing people for improperly referencing the brand. "Im'a get me one uh them thar porter and cable drills", or "How many feet of that porter cable you think i'll need to fix my TV antenna?"

I just worry that the person making the mistake may have learning difficulties, may be deaf, may be dyslexic, may not be a very good typist...

I try to be generous and charitable towards them rather than ridiculing them...

I don't blame the guy much. That is what it sounds like when most people say it. Who knows how he came across the tool, or what his skill level is, or what his profession is. Ignorant, sure that's a fair description, but insulting him is not fair.

Many words in our wonderful language are spelled one way and often spoken/mispoken another way. How many of you say the first r in February? A lot of people don't say or spell refrigerator, they say or spell "fridge" or "fridgerator". I can go on and on. If this thread bothers you, be prepared for the future. It will only get worse with all of the "texting" and shorthand by the next generation.

Why would a deaf person have a problem placing an ad on craigs list?
