Outlaw: i said circle B, but posted a picture too. i didn't know it was called a SHIELD B logo. thanks for trying to figure it out.

Jake: thanks for that Shield B thought and prior to you posting that I googled a wrench's # ZE 2526 and Bonney came up.

ALL: guessing it's BONNEY then for Shield B wrenches? they are quality and knowing the seller's age guessing maybe 1970's or do tell?
Yep, B-shields are Bonney goodness.

I see you guys solved the big Bonney mystery.

Rick Carpenter- That Starrett vise deal is in need of some suckage. Finding a vise like that at the church sale is almost unheard of.

ALL: thanks all for the Bonney confirmation and wondering if my guess of 1970's production is about right or anybody have a way to age these?

thanks in advance

in case any of you might want to store some of your nicer collections inside the house here's something i picked up that might fly at my house and i'll keep you posted. these Hamilton and old Mayline oak flat files really were made well and this hamilton might just need a new top and some old school casters to come in my wife's house, but i'll try some day soon and report back. this Hamilton oak flat file cabinet with 5 drawers isn't little cause its 53.5 inches wide, 41 inches deep and i think 16.5 inches tall.

Down at the bottom of the page where Bon E Con and B Shield are discussed.

The ratchet with the same logo is date 1957-60 based on the patent info. I assume the wrenches would be around that time.

Just picked up a craftsman table saw for cheap, with a couple of issues I need to tend to. Might flip or keep and sell my other one....

It's a model 137.228210 2HP.

Problem numero uno:
The main table snapped off, most likely from someone tipping it over.
<<<<Insert picture here later today>>>>>>

Problem numero dos:
The power switch is missing the safety mechanism, so someone, not me, someone had the bright idea to by-pass the switch, and make it power on as soon as it's plugged in. Not safe bro. Not safe at all. This is where I need my fellow GJ-ers assistance. This is the switch which is missing the safety clip. Pictured here is the stock photo with said safety switch. Can someone take their safety switch off and take a picture for of it for me, so I can mock up a replacement, and correct this wiring issue?

Thanks in advanced,

Last Saturday's flea randomness.

Bell System scissors sheath.

The other two, your guess is as good as mine.

The cutter is brass except for the blade and screw.

Picked these lawnmowers up on my way to work. Not familiar with Westbrook lawnmower but they are self propelled units. If I can get them running then I might flip them, otherwise I'll let my daughter take them apart and teach them some basic lawnmower mechanic.

Well I piddled with them last night and I was able to get them started with a shot of starting fluid down the carb, but they wouldn't stay running. So maybe this weekend I'll take the carb apart and clean them out and try some fresh gas. I'm curious to get the westbrook running to see how the self propel system works since you push the handle up to engage the propel and lower the handle to disengage.

Well that's not what comes to mind when someone says they're choking their chicken......

Surprise that it even sold cause a hatchet does a good job for processing chicken as it is!

3Bay: nice find and OMG on the CHICKEN CHOKER. i had a neighbor growing up that would raise rabbits and chickens in his backyard (in SEATTLE CITY LIMITS) and he'd cut the heads off his chickens when ready to defeather and eat and just let them run around his backyard for a while headless. to this day it still sounds odd that i witnessed that more than once cause the son was a good friend of mine. and the owner/dad/neighbor was one of our politicians at state capital. he's also take the rabbits and just twist and break their necks. i eat a lot of chicken, but i can't recall ever eating rabbit (bunnies).

ALL: i posted my Bonney shield wrenches on the Bonney thread and got a comment that they were Bonney's line of less expensive tools. i thought they looked almost too shiny, but they still are great quality and better than anything you can buy without really opening up your wallet.

hope you are all having a good day finding stuff.

cheers

I picked this up from an antique store today-$39.95. The loose sockets, the rachet and speeder, and all the other assorted items in the box are all Proto, plus a Crafty set, just missing a couple of sockets. There's even four chain hooks in the box, too. The box itself appears to be military, made by Lyon. The 9/16 wrench on the lid looks to be a wartime Bluepoint.

This is the only mark on a 3/8 craftsman speed handle. Anyone have a part #? Having a hard time finding a value on it. I'm keeping it, just don't know how good a deal I got.

Swingpress, is the speeder 16" long? The 1942 Cman catalog lists 9 PC 4427 and retailed at $.98. Most likely made in New Britains's Husky factory in Kenosha, WI, in the late 1930s.

I finally went to one sale but it was a bust. The ad described a snap-on tool box filled with tools so i took a shot and went there. When it opened up I was pissed because the box was beat up and he was selling it as one package deal for 10k. Also he wouldn't even lettkng anyone touch it lol. I told him he is going to waste a lot of people's time by the price and the ad. He was lucky his wife was there or I would of cussed him out big time for wasting over a hour of my time.

Btw a friend of mine said the sale sounded fimilar and he was right. He went there last year and it was selling back then for 10k as well. Also he wouldn't even let you look at the tools either. Who is going to pay 10k for a box with tools and not even see what your buying. The guy was a joke and he wasted a lot of people's time I bet.
