I think ill have to order one to try. I have Matco electric impact tools that have more power then the sears but i still need the drill at home. I thought about switching to Milwaukee fuels
Please let us know if you do. Even if the longevity isn't is good but they work well I might consider it as an inexpensive backup.

Anyone have the C3 1/2"-drive Heavy Duty Impact Wrench? I'm looking at one for home maintenance duties (both around the property and on the cars) but before I buy I'd like to hear the opinions of those that have and use one.

Thanks!
I have the original one and really like it. A few really stubborn bolts I had to bust out the big pneumatic for, but for the most part is up to the task and VERY handy. If the new one is really more powerful I can imagine I would love it even more. I won't hesitate to get one if mine dies.

I think the original impact wrench is rated for 200ft/lbs, and the heavy duty one is 300ft/lbs... At least that's what I remember seeing on the tags at the store. Sears doesn't really publish specs on them or what that number actually is...

I use mine mostly on light vehicles and removing lawn mower blades... lol. Oh, and to get a chainsaw spinning so I could tune the carb to get it running.

The convenience of being cordless is great, but it' no substitute of brute force of a pneumatic.

Sears does publish those specs, they are in the product manual as well as on the product web page:

standard is "200 ft-lb of Torque"
HD is "300 ft.-lbs. of torque"

BTW, not to nit pick, but torque ratings are in ft-lbs, not feet per pound (e.g. ft/lbs)

I worked on Class 8 trucks and that wasn't enough power I switched to the older Matco 1/2 and now have gone to the new one. way more power. My 3/8 impact is Matco as well. the Milwaukee and Dewalt are also great.

We were discussing the knockoff C3 batteries earlier in this thread and I found this video comparing Milwaukee M18 batteries and I thought it would go good with that discussion.

The wet/dry vac is now on clearance at $39.88.

When I was in store a week or two ago I noticed a number of the individual tools priced at $**.88. This is usually indicates clearance/pre-clearance. The signs did not state clearance on them, but it has me a little concerned, especially now that the vac is marked as clearance online.

Upon looking further those items I saw in store are marked clearance online. Small discounts right now, but many are newer models like the radios, LED light, brushless drill, etc.

Hard to say if they're just going to update them or if they're phasing out the line. I find it hard to believe they would dump the line with nothing to replace it with, but with the morons running Sears it's entirely possible.

Edit 2/1: And now they're back off of clearance online and prices are back up. I surely can't explain Sears, but if you're looking to buy some C3 stuff, it might be wise to do it now l while items are still available in case they are actually being discontinued. Stacking coupons and/or surprise points could bring the sale prices down below what they were just listed for on clearance..

I need to pickup a jigsaw for a volunteer project I'm working on at my son's elementary school. Those of you with the C3 Jigsaw, any reason I should not buy the C3 and instead spend twice the money on a Milwaukee (my other cordless tool line)? The Milwaukee bare tool is $130, the same price as the C3 saw and an XCP 4.0 battery. Is the Milwaukee that much better that a casual user should drop the coin on it?

I have a C3 jigsaw and I am pleased with it. Just used it this weekend and don't see a reason to spend more money on a different tool.

Any opinion on the C3 buffer/polisher? I found one at a local pawn shop but I feel it's a little overpriced. I can't find any sold on Ebay to price compare.

They're asking $55. It comes with a NiCd battery and one of those little stem chargers, but those are about worthless to me. The buffer itself looks to be in good shape and has the foam pad, but no accessories.
A little over priced. Like you said, that battery is worthless. I do like mine though. I adapted the pad to accept standard velcro backed pads. Pretty handy to go cordless for a quick wax and buff.

I also think they are phasing a lot of the C3 tools out. The air inflator is down to $40 and is out of stock everywhere. Sears Hometown/hardware stores may still have some in stock. With Dewalt/Stanley Craftsman aquisition, I can only imagine they will start making these power tools. I was able to get the inflator for $40 and the hand vacuum for $10.

Looks like you get back 50% in SYW points on all C3 batteries on Sears.com Not sure about in store, I don't have any near me anymore

I have one as well. Have not used it a lot but am glad I bought it. I have cable power grinders but this is MUCH more convenient for the quick jobs. Do not notice much power difference either. I would buy it again.

I have one too, it's probably the only thing that I use my big lithium ion pack in as others have said it will eat up a battery pretty quick. But it's great for those quick jobs or ones you don't want to have to run a long extension cord for.

Picked up the display boom box yesterday. The brushless drill is next on my radar, my gut is telling me this line is going bye bye.

You can plug it in and it will charge a battery when plugged in. Sound is flat but it's got Bluetooth and USB 2.0 amp charging port

Anyone have a string trimmer for sale, or know of one? Should have bought one a long time ago, now they are gone!

I've got a few Craftsman C3 power tools and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. I would check out the XCP batteries though, if you get a chance. They're pretty phenomenal. I'd also check out the C3 handvac. That thing *****...in a good way.

Agree, I just gifted my last C3 to a nephew. Would be nice if someone come up with a battery converter wedge to accept their sister products Ryobi batteries. After all there is only one cell difference between the Ryobi and C3's inside the pack. At least the tools could live on after Sears bits the big one.

I had luck finding one in a combo kit with a small blower at Ace Hardware. I think it also came with a NiCd battery and charger. Ended up costing me more than if I had just bought the trimmer from Sears before they were gone, but I got one and I'm happy with it.

The generic batteries available thru Amazon seem fine. I got one for Fathers Day, the only thing I don't like so far is the lack of rubber around the base...perhaps time for some plasti-dip? ;-)

How long ago? I'm have to start checking ace. I really don't want to go to the 24 or 40 volt systems, but that's all they make now. I keep watching ebay too
