Gerstner and Bros. (Dayton Ohio) machinist tool box. Missing a drawer and in fair shape. The side handles are rusty. I am hoping someone will want to restore this and get some use out of it. It was given to me in this condition.

Stuff like this almost never shows up for free around here.

Once again in SF, Nice find and looks like you maybe able to take his whole shop away for him for free or for pennies. Even though they're for the weekender home dude, these two machines are just fine to use and not too bad of shape in the world of free things. I also see a tablesaw, compressor & drill press in the background, there must be a lot of other items as well.

I'm sure he's getting a million responses and guys are cleaning out there trucks beds in case they get the nod to pick up. They should pickup a case of good beer as a good gesture gift, at the very least.

It's not SF free but for $10 I think it's worthy of listing, needs a motor but that's minor and your chance to choose speed for metal or wood.. Plenty of restores have been done on these.

I'll tell you Larry, I even have a alert sent to my e mail for the free CL items,
Pittsburgh, and Northern WV,
and I still missed that free gerstner box.
That's my thing, I have restored quite a few, and Made new drawers and front panels quite a few times.
OH well.
Then I missed a Brand new looking Gerstner on there one time, the bigger one, not the smaller 7 Drawer, For $100.00!!!!!

^macgee-why do you have to send us to south central LA? haha. Wear a flak jacket and neutral colors when picking it up. Like you mentioned, it's good starter for sure.

That's a really good deal on a really good vise. If you can spare $25 you should buy it yourself. There are quite a few GJ vise collectors who could see that you double your money on that Reed.

I would get it myself, but it's a 2+ hour drive one way for me. I posted in case anyone here was close and could score a good deal.

Yeah, 4 hours of driving and the fuel cost will cancel out the good deal for you. Unless you can find an excuse for going in that direction for some other reason.

Nave to see. Looks to be it GREAT Shape. Jaws look like new too.

Just posted 20mins ago, that is a steal. I hope someone jumps on this before the Bell Gardens dude gets it & tries flipping it for $800+.

Has the blade welder that he mentioned but now a days most won't need it and can then use a normal voltage. Since it's so cheap, it's a great candidate for a VFD.
