That sweet vintage Craftsman table saw that Tundruz just posted is a great tool. I have one exactly like that with the same looking motor, labeled 1 horsepower just like in the pic. Mine runs on 120 just fine. Maybe that is a dual voltage motor. Or if not, look around for a used motor. Easy swap. I have an extra one just laying around right now.
For FREE, that is a great deal. I see the fence and the original miter pusher for cross cuts. The table and the extensions are cast iron and I don't have to tell you that that saw is HEAVY!

20$ for the box would be a steal. 20$ *each* isn't a great deal for a used 1.5AH battery. new ones are all over ebay for less than 25$ shipped.

10$ each would be a great deal.

just saying . . ..

Who even pays or offers asking price on CL anyway? :headscrat

1. Text or email seller asking total quantity
2. Take total quantity x $10
3. Make offer

Figured, I will leave it up as a warning. Always remember if it Sounds Too Good to Be True, it Probably Is.

Then everything posted in CA would be a scam. I still can't believe all the great stuff posted for free in CA, my garage would be packed if I lived anywhere in the state.

maybe, but it would have to be a labor of love. . . . . is the rust on those old CA trucks mostly surface, or do they see rot like we do up here in the snow belt?

Nay,

We mostly get surface rust compared to you snow birds with salted roads. Granted AZ is usually the best place for lack of rust but while we do get some rust it's quite low compared to most places in the US. That truck does have some rust but what do you want for free?

And yes, it would need a labor of love and a hefty investment.

I would love to have that orig. front bumper above while driving in LA traffic.

Back to craigslist deals:

FREE: Various lab electronic equipment - working condition (Long Beach, CA)

For you Dr. Frankestiens out there, this might be of some interests to you. There's quite a bit there and I bet if working is worth some good money. Better hurry it's been up for 4 hrs.

I do see among the pile a centrifuge and a ultra sonic cleaner. What else is there?

There is money to be made on that kind of stuff. I picked up a vintage autoclave (steam sterilizer) free. I just cleaned it up, listed it on eBay and ended up selling it to a tattoo shop for around $100 if I recall.

FREE: Treadmills (Los Angeles Area)

If anyone is interested in free variable speed motors and the controller to convert their lathe, drill press, belt sander, band saw......etc? Then look on craigslist for free treadmills.

Right now I'm seeing a ton of free treadmills sprinkled around the Los Angeles/SoCal area.

They also have a motorized table lift that some have used for drill press tables or other things.

Most say they're working. Even if they are not, most likely the motor and speed controller are fine.

There's several threads here on GJ like this one on how to do it, also a bunch on Youtube and other sites. They're great for wood lathe's and drill press. Just a suggestion in case you see a free one in your neighborhood.

Been looking for one to run a lathe, and the belts apparently make great drawer liners.

Let me help you with that:

"Original SNAP-ON TOOLS K70 roller kart 1932 - $230 (winston salem) "

"1932 Snap-On Tools work cart. All parts and pieces appear present, including an attachment for side of kart (not shown in phot. Condition is solid, surface could use some cleaning, and there is some minor rusting present but this could easily be addressed. Ready to use, or restore, or whatever. I have only washed it down (shown wet in photo) and wiped it dry and greased the drawer slides a bit. Otherwise, nothing has been done to the surface. "

Went from this posting (above) to this deal (below).

quoted from the "found a deal on craigslist? - list here!" thread. Pretty pricey but cool.

personally, i'd pay that.............

+ 1 in a freakin' hurry and amen, brother!

here's hoping that someone on gj gets it and shares lots of pictures. Would love to hear the story behind it.

i'll let you know tomorrow, 15july. I am picking up the 32 snap-on tomorrow. On hold for me. And no not paying asking price. :bounce:

we'll gents here's that 32 snap-on. I'll get some better pictures tomorrow. Pretty clean i must say. Only issue is the top drawer has a wicked warp to it. I'll have to figure out the best way to get it back true. Open to any suggestions if you got any?

The lady bought from a fella that was 90 years old. He was selling his complete shop so she bought him out. She said that he was a jack of all trades kind of fella. It's been in winston salem, nc since the old timer bought it.

Has the side tool rack as well and it's only missing the security bar that goes in front of the drawers. That's easy to replicate, which i will do.

Sorry for the long post but thought that it was nice see a something on this thread result in a deal for fellow GJ member on another, related thread. :D

FREE TREADMILL - good for parts for machines in shop; needs electronic tweak... (Hollywood)

The owner has done you a favor by removing the upright making it much easier for transporting and separating the control board making it easier for your project for a drill press or whatever and the treadmill belt for tool drawer liner. Hopefully, it's just a wiring snafu and easy to fix.

"I removed the handlebars, so it is simply the horizontal walking surface. To remove the handles, I had to rewire, and it worked on and off for a while, but clearly there was a loose connection somewhere. I wasn't able to troubleshoot it but if you are able to check the wiring, you can have a free standing desk treadmill... I just didn't have the patience and time. My loss - your gain!"

2" x 72" Belt grinder, knife making - $250 (San Gabriel Valley, CA)

Just posted
These are awesome to have and rarely on craigslist. They usually sell for way more and if the additional contact attachments come with it then this is a very good deal. Just add a motor which is the easiest part. I wish I could grab it.

"Custom built 2x72 belt grinder. First image shows how I used the machine and the different attachments that can be had. Most use these for knife making, but can also be used for fabrication. This was built for knife making. Includes 5" drive wheel, flat platen w/ 2" contact wheels, 4" tracking wheel, toolrest and 3 extra tooling arms. Wheels are super tough nylon. Fitted with a gas shock for consistent belt pressure. The tooling arm allow other attachments to be used. Such as a 10" contact wheel and small wheel attachment.
All you need is a motor to get started, then add accessories as you progress. Any 56 motor will bolt in place which makes alighnment a cinch. The machine has been used for a year and in excellent shape."
