Plus 1 on that G-Man, but how do you pronounce that do you recon?---Is the T silent or the M?---Or was it supposed to be Metro.

The original color appeared to be a very dark sort of battleship gray. The jaws and slide are in excellent condition.
Is there any way to get an approximate manufacture or made before date on this based on the base? I have seen some 614 1/2 with the completely flat base but this one has the protrusion on the bottom.
Best,
Rob
Is the MTECO yours Nick?---A really neat looking vise.---Looks well made, like a Morgan.
Don't think it's a real early one, the older ones had a protrusion with about a 45 degree angle, requiring a corresponding notch in the face of the bench. Have a 614 like that, had to notch the bench. Yours is a little newer, being able to be placed against the front of the bench without notching.
That's interesting with the side crank handle. Here is mine, it might be a bit smaller than yours.

A rare CL find. A Craftsman 5195 joined the family today. It is in good shape and has entered the refurb queue.
Nice! Have you find any info on yours? Mine does have a stamp but I could never find anything on it. I have a old pic of a ad that has one in it but it's cropped out and you can only see a small piece of the vise.

Tink, Members are obviously interested with 219 visits to your info page. Do you only collect really cool small vises or have you got some large ones also ?![]()

If you click on TinkTinkForge in the upper left corner it takes you to a menu that has info you put in about yourself and history of posts.etc.
Hard to complain about a 6" paramo
Just wait until you drop on one with quick release. You'll be spoilt, and look at plain screw vices in a different light from then on in.![]()

Anyone in W MI interested in this older (I think) "double vise"? I don't recall seeing one like this before, tho I'm not any sort of expert.
Sheldon Co Bench Vise. Not sure if it's worth the $90 being asked![]()
The magnet was getting bored, so I set it to "B" which is for British vices, and turned the amperage down hoping for something big. It reeled in a Paramo No. 6 on a swivel base. The seller threw in a couple little guys and a trolley track anvil for good measure.
Let me be the first to say you **** ! Very nice condition ! You probably paid $5 or something stupid like that [emoji2]

Awesome vise, congrats. I use the same model as my primary vise at work. If you do a restoration, consider adding a roller thrust bearing as that is a weak point on those vises (VICES). I did mine awhile ago and I highly recommend it.
