That looks identical to the MAC Tools version I have. I’m guessing Facom would have made the MAC?

I beat the ever living piss out of the wobble impacts and they held up great. Used my Gen1 Milwaukee impact with a 9.0 taking apart Lull steering...I was prepared for them to snap, but they held up.
Honestly, I've put the same non-wobble versions the guy above bought through a ton of abuse and never had any issues. But then again, that's always the Harbor Freight way isn't it? One guy can torque a suspension bridge nut with one with no issues, and another guy will have one snap clean in half removing a valve cover bolt. :dunno:

That facom kit is excellent, i've had mine for years and it gets used every time a dash needs to come out. Worth the £50 easily.

Lifetime warranty on the ratchet, extender bar and sockets also (Bits are consumables)

No pic but just bought a new Dewalt Brad Nailer. It uses no oil!! :dunno::wtf:
When did this happen?:dunno:
They drive it into our brains for 50 years that you must oil your air tools and now this. In fact it says it will ruin it if oiled..:eyecrazy::dunno:

New Dewalt 735x planer. Amazon dropped its price last week to $499 for one day or so. My dog is doing her quality assurance checks on it.

Just picked up a Snap on 3/4" impact socket set, 3/4" - 2-1/4" for $200 on CL. Newer sockets at that in great shape.

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a good 3/4" impact set for a few years now.

I guess it's heavy equip week for me on CL.

1" Proto ratchet and sockets in case. Some Proto, Snap on, and Truth sockets plus extensions, adapters, etc. $50 (which turned into a car load from the same dude for $200)

Excuse my possible ignorance, but could it have hurt this compressor to have laid it down on it's side for transport?

AL.
Yes, since they prefilled the compressor motor with oil, laying it on its side could cause oil to soak past the rings into the compression chamber, causing at best hydrolock and at worst scattering the compressor from trying to compress the oil, so it had to be transported standing up

Got an air compressor from Menards, 150$ off, floor model as well9532b9d36752b82f4441edb1a2e2c4f1.jpg

I think I can see what the straps are doing, but what is the chain for?
Was it not possible to block or lash the base of the compressor in place also?

AL.

The yellow strap hooks were too big to pass through between the tank and motor brackets, so I ran the chain through them instead and ran the strap through the chain on the front, it was solid enough my 240lb friend couldn't budge it lol

That poor truck needs a spray in bedliner!

Got my first Trusty Cook hammers the other day from Napa. Its nice having some decent deadblows compared to the old HF that somehow found their way into my box(i didn't buy them). Reasonably priced and lifetime warranty through Napa, although i doubt i'll ever need the warranty. Also picked up a locking flex-head quick release 3/8 thats 9" long, loving it so far. Haven't tried the wire strippers yet. TV remote is for size reference as a buddy wanted to know how big the deadblows were.

Lol, it also needs a hitch so I don't have to lift heavy stuff into the bed, in time though, I need to get my project done first and out of confront of my garage

So this is the new tool waiting at the shop from me. I am curious at how this will hold up to "real" ratchets. The "sockets" are bike tool specific. I have similar ones that I use an old craftsman ratchet with, but I had some extra cash and this looked ****. It typically isn't something I would talk about here, but the ratchet is a traditional tool so it fits. I am curious about how it will compare to some of my snap on, cman and other ratchets. It is taiwan made from what I can find, so should be of ok quality.

When it gets in I will take a picture of the guts and we can play "who makes this ratchet" as I doubt this smaller bike tool company came up with their own ratchet mechanism.

My guess just from the photo is Newtools: http://www.newtools.com/pd_15.htm . These guys make Tone and Blackhawk ratchets now, looks to be similar.

Bought a Protoco wrench rack for $9 on Amazon and finally put it in the box, even though it doesn't lock in the wrenches like the SK or Gearwrench racks, i love how it has the wrenches a little tighter and they seem to be tilted up more which makes them easier to read. Now i just need to buy more wrenches so i can fill up some racks.

So you can accurately weld tube-to-tube.

fishmouthed-steel-tubing-joint-300x171.jpg

vr3_prof_tubes_3std.jpg

Ok Thanks for that info that others gave also, but the pictures really tell the story. My grandson wants me to weld up some tubing for a dune buggy frame and I have just started investigating how we are going to cut and shape the ends etc. Big ah ha moment. Wasn't paying attention in my quickie welding class and missed it. I have been a square and parallel welder that just fixes something broken. Have to relearn every time I get the welder out.

A couple of new arrivals,

New Williams long 3/8" ratchet from Amazon US, very nice quality if a little course, put it on a drill to break it in a bit and its nice and smooth now. Chrome is very nice;

107jdx1.jpg

My new Proto 3/8" manual impact driver also arrived with the ratchet, much better quality than the £10 one i've been using for years, feels more solid and is working well, easily worth £40 for the set;

n1c5sn.jpg

Two new sockets sets, a Tekton 3/8" impact set along with 3 extensions for them, also ordered a Genius 1/2" swivel set. The Tekton's are just as good as the 1/2" impacts and the swivels also seem just as good, not tried them yet though;

Found a boot for my compact 1/2" on eBay, covers it nicely, i'll need to try and find one for the 1/2" mid-torque now;

I tried a set of FD+ snap-on spanners recently, and while i still don't think they're worth full price for a set they were very good, couldn't help myself;

mj0rxw.jpg

v4832u.jpg

10-19mm with no skips. Excellent grip on the open end.

Picked up a PCL blow gun for cheap, good for a spare, came with a free 1/4" fitting;

jrqubs.jpg

Working from home i've been feeling the lack of a decent vise recently, looking online the only ones i could find for decent money where cast-iron jobs from china or Taiwan, with a few brands i've never heard of. However with a kit of searching i came across this from Toptul;

2me0kp.jpg

6ye3vm.jpg

Seems very nice for the price (£230 delivered);

2i0btap.jpg

23u6du9.jpg

Its not as refined as a few of the Toptul tools i've used, the paints a bit rough but the actual mechanism feels very solid and well built. I'd rather have steel than iron too. The swivel locks work very well. A bit early to say how it is to work with as i haven't had time to mount it to a workbench but im sure it'll be worth its money.

Also took the opportunity and ordered a 3/8" impact a few days ago, i like the trigger design and the fact there's no selector, i'm surprised by how compact it feels, even compared to my compact Milwaukee. Colour ain't bad either, just need to find a boot for it;
