Had a good day at the flea today, not because I found a bunch of good stuff, but because I found a few things I really "needed."
Found an SK 1/2" deep, an SK universal, and a 3" extension which will almost complete a set I've been working on. The Craftsman BE breaker bar will complete a little 1/4" set I have. The rest I just grabbed, well, just cause. A Walden spintite spinner, a couple of long c Craftsman doe, a unmarked SK breaker bar, and a pair of KD ignition pliers. 8 bucks all in.

Not able to get out much lately but I did manage to find a few items over the course of three sales. A little Craftsman- a square, a well used hatchet, some hex wrenches a torx driver and a tape measure. A Lufikin 100 tape and a Lancer tape. Proto wrench and adjustable plus a Blue Point hammer. Plus a Mac Tools bag to carry all the goods. Last pic is another USA ball pein, a Klein screwdriver plus some Fairmount wrenches, a Husky plus a couple unmarked.

JD, that Long C stuff needs posted in the long C thread! Nice finds!

I hit the first and last day of an estate sale. They were selling the tool boxes and contents together, 375 for the Western Forge set and 200 for the Waterloo set, so on the first day I picked up the wrenches for a dollar each, the top tray with the Long C (H) socket set with extensions, 1/4 drive Craftsman set for 10 and the Blackhawk sockets for 15. The last day I picked up the boxes at half off, 260 for the pair.

This is the first box.

More of the first box. The ax is a 3-1/2 Collins, needs a new handle.

Last of the second box. The Craftsman compressor works, just needs a new cord.

For some reason I was only seeing your anvil images as links, so here they are in a way that will hopefully show up for easier viewing. :)

All the estate sales were on the other side of the city again for the 3rd week, however, I was tipped off by a estate sale friend that there was a "huge tool sale" only a mile from me. When I went there they had started thursday so the majority of the items were gone besides a few high priced items that were in not too good of shape.

I picked up this old 10" woodworking vise for $10. There isn't a name or markings on it besides some cast markings. Does anyone have any idea who might have made a vise in this style that I could try to compare against?

EDIT: Its a craftsman vise with the heritage symbol, so around the 1950's.

Finally got most of my swap meet finds from Portland international raceway cleaned up so I thought I would show them !

Walked into the swap meet and made a call to rileysan to give him some =v= metric sockets he wanted... In route to his booth I found him a sweet Blackhawk tool display board for pullers. Also found these 3 porcelain coated lights that are matching for $70! They are not perfect but are nice enough. I will bend some conduit to create necks for them and create out door light for my craftsman bungalow! My wife was also super stoked on them!

All laid out

Scored all these machinery pulleys including some cman 4 step ones for $5

Every flea market in NJ has its own personality and character. Collingwood, my flea market, is known for four things: guys smoking big fat cigars, wearing vintage hats, partaking from the Nathan's hot dog cart, and their cars. As many of you know, I occasionally share pics of some of the more interesting or ugly autos. For my Bay Area buddies, I was truly impressed by this iconic authentic VW Microbus.

The bus is awesome!

Perhaps the nicest thing was this set of barissters. Made in Ohio, all glass is perfect and everything slides and operates freely. It was free, I just had to hump it out of the basement. They had no idea it separated into 3 pieces.

You **** on the free bookcases!
I like the Schucco Beetle too, have a few of their old race cars.
Look that Pepsi sign over carefully, I suspect it's a reproduction.

Now that is funny, two GJ guys unknowingly meeting up at a garage sale and helping each other out!

That's how I met both Bluebomber and Bobcat753. I bet there have been more unknown member meet ups that haven't been discovered yet.

Maybe we need a secret GJ handshake so we aren't unknowingly elbowing another member out of the way while on the hunt.

We need some GJ t-shirts to wear to the flea market or estate sales/auctions to pick others out of the crowd.
Something like this:

I met WNYflyer once at an estate sale. We were both picking out ratchets. Then he wanted to take a look at the Snappy catalog I bought and he showed me the ratchet he bought.

Come to think of it, I’m still waiting for him to post that Wards flex head ratchet here! How do I know he isn’t an imposter?

Really, I just want to see the ratchet again. :D

I hit our local Rotary garage sale this weekend. I picked up a basically new Echo hedge trimmer for $15, a hedging attachment for my pole saw for $10, and a Milwaukee right angle drill for $5. The drill looks a little rough but I have been looking for something to clean up for the polishing thread here on GJ.

A very small Norlund hatchet with the leather blade cap, Plvmb Combo, and a brass and steel power tool handle.

Outlaw,

Welcome to the Norlund Hatchet owner club! Not sure if you remember, but a while ago there was a shinny polished Norlund on eBay which sold for a pretty penny. Very cool hatchet!

Went to the first MIT flea of the year, braving the wind and ice pellets (wtf--it's April!).

The plastic drawer set plus contents was $20--including dozens of BNC adapters by Amphenol, etc. that are worth a couple of bucks apiece. The NOS USA Crafty 6-pt metric 3/8" drive sockets and 1960s Jorgensen clamp were another Jackson (the forum software likes to rotate attached images for no reason--sorry).

Took me almost 2 years to find the arbor press I wanted and finally got one. I was bidding on a similar one which went over my budget real quick and I was bummed. Then 2 days later i found this for $160. Famco 3-1/2R 5 ton ratcheting arbor press with stand. My finds keep getting heavier. Shipping weight on their catalog says 320 for the press and 225 for the stand.

Smoke (or anyone),
How are you able to include pics inline and avoid the limitation of 7 pics per post? Oh yeah, great haul! I'll give you $10 for that retirement light!!! ;-) Seen 'em go for $75 easy.

Thanks!

You can upload them to a photo album in your profile.

From there:

1. Click on whatever photo you want to use from your album.
2. Right click on it and select copy.
3. Go to the thread you are posting ( I have GJ open in two tabs when doing this to make it easy)
4. Put cursor where you want image in your post.
5. Click the Image button in tool bar above (yellow square like a postcard)
6. Delete http:// from the box and paste your image link
7. Click OK
8. Click preview post to see your image.

That’s how I do it. Maybe there is some other way.
