thanks Larry, grabbing the Cman motor today ... will go great on my 150 drill press resto. Is 1450 rpm common? Usually if not 3650 I see 1750 or similar. This will be great as I usually work metal and not wood. Thanks again.

Note that the motor is 1450 at 50 hertz. That will be 1725 at 60 hz.

Glad to hear you got it, and larry_g's comment (you can trust him, based on name alone) vis-a-vis 1450 and 1725 RPMs explains things.

Owners were nice people. Grandfather died, people took a lot of tools (I found only 1 wrench) and they were getting rid of the rest as house sale was pending.
Got couple of other things for good prices (posted in sale competition thread): couple of vices, sockets, old rusty Kennedy ...

Larry X2 ... thanks gents, makes sense. My electrical ineptitude will be compensated by JZiggy's third pulley on the drill press. But sure wish I could get even slower speeds without ridiculous mods. The 60Hz RPM will work fine. Thanks again to the Ls.
