87 ratchets currently, 1 coming Tuesday and 3 Matco's soon to be shipped
We all started somewhere.....I ordered another ratchet from China. When it arrives in a few weeks I will have 2 ratchets, this new one is a fine tooth 36t with extendable handle or as the description says 'long move handle for strong turn'. We'll see how it goes... $4.99 delivered.

Now here's a real question, should I get one of those 3/8 koken zeals or a williams b52 based off the old 936 to add the the horde?

Damn, this is like therapy for me!!!!![]()

Where is the cut off of where to switch from grease to oils in fine tooth mechanisms?

depends on the ratchet...
dual 80s all get the super lube grease
sk lp90 seems to be doing fine with thin layers of super lube grease
matco/armstrong 88s... i won't use anything heavier than air tool oil... used gear oil once in my matco and it worked ok in the summer but once the weather cooled down it started hanging up pretty bad... i'd hate to think how it would do with grease
Good thing I put MMO the gearwrench yesterday then. Restraint isn't my forte and I tend to cram a good bit of superlube into stuff most of the time so I got to be careful with the higher count stuff. The HF composites seemed to have liked it though.

All I could think about when you mentioned this.... dont do this

Exactly my problem.Problem is no matter how many ratchets you buy there is always another new or vintage one on the wants list. There are simply too many options, too many configurations to be satisfied with what you have.
