Can’t put a price on safety, some new uvex turboshield lens from amazon.
I’ve learned that when a product works well you’ll actually use it all the time...

picked up a few things from MSC - lost my favorite Klein screwdriver and really wanted one of the Stanley 175th Anniversary tape measures!

Same manufacture in Taiwan probably would be a good guess. Since channel lock is just a brand these days and not so much of a manufacturer. Something like that.

What?

Not so. Where people get confused is that there is Channellock the people pumping out US made blue handled pliers by the pair.

Then there's channelock products which the Channellock name pimped out to Taiwan made tools like ratcheting wrenches, anti slip long pattern combination wrenches, socket sets etc.

Channellock the blue handled plier people is still a large manufacturer of pliers. :wtf:

Oh I see. Here it is hard to follow about 50% of the channel lock stuff is USA made and the rest Taiwan at least locally. At least at do it best stores which claim their channel lock stuff is exclusive to them. Vacuums , tools chests , and other hand tools sockets and what not. Only a few of their pliers do not say made in USA on them. I assumed that since most their tools that say made in USA also say redesigned or new design something of that nature things are a bit different.

Those look a lot Like the Channellock 548's

Couldn't find any 548's locally, and wanted another set for the service truck. Been real happy with the small Carlyle wire stripper/crimper and 3/8 flex ratchet so thought I would give this a shot.

At around $18 for the Carlyle you didn't leave any money on the table. I just pointed it out because i didn't know they private labeled Channellock. Those Carlyle wire strippers are nice too.

Ordered these from Tooltopia on Thursday and Fedex delivered today.

Only really need the OTC pulley holder on top, but to get free shipping I had to make up $25 more of stuff to order. The Lang magnetic spark plug socket is what I needed when the Gearwrench set I have with builtin extensions are too long. The VIM reversible hex bit wrench will be handy in tight places. The Mueller Kueps caliper hangers will replace bungee cords for tying up brake calipers.

Those guys that tie rebar are in a bent over position 8 hours a day. Their hands are literally by their feet all the time. The pliers are always pointed downwards. By having that bend at the end of the lower handle, they don't have to squeeze so hard to keep the pliers from sliding out of their hands. Rebar Iron Workers are the toughest guys on the face of the earth. The amount of discipline and endurance they have is beyond human.

Scored this at a years sale today, $50! The 0-1” was frozen, but I was able to free it by dissassembling it and soaking in mineral spirits. When I bought them I didn’t realize the 3-4” was underneath the other three, so yeah! They look identical to the Starret Mics my uncle has and I couldn’t beat the price, figured if I couldn’t get the 0-1” unstuck I was still WAY ahead.

Haven’t had anything to show in a while. Went to Lowe’s today specifically for a portable bandsaw. Also found the 2 pack of 25’ Fatmaxs for $15 and couldn’t say no.

What does that do better than a circular saw, reciprocating saw or even a chain saw? Seems like a bulky tool to use in comparison. Does it cut metal?

I bought it specifically for cutting metal. My current project is putting up a carport/barn (all steel construction) and I’m gonna use this to cut the posts (2-7/8 drill stem) off to the correct height. It’ll also get used to cut the purlins, girts, etc.

They're the cats *** for cutting pipe/conduit/Hangers/Kindorf neatly and faster than with a sawzall
