I got skipped this week too, damn. Sounds like far more people got skipped this week than usual.

4x4 - the link only gives you a chance to win the sweepstakes prize (regular points), you won't receive the freecash surprise points offer unless you receive your own copy of the Sweeps Weekly email and open it.

Developments so far today

Since I didn't receive the Sweeps Weekly bonus offer this week, and didn't win enough lately to come close to another Knipex Pliers Wrench, I'm planning to just go spend my points in-store this afternoon with a $5 off $35+ RMN coupon. If the points program including sweepstakes ends up getting a few more months to run, maybe I'll be able to save up some again for some more online orders. I don't feel comfortable holding onto points till Monday (my next expiration day), in case they shut it down tonight.

Update: At least I won the $4 this afternoon! And I managed to reactivate the app installation $5 off $15 coupon, so I'll use that and my last $5 pickup coupon to get 2 items in 2 transactions, instead of worrying about making things add up right for the $35 one and then something cheap with the pickup coupon.

Nice Hexen, I just got ~70cents or so.

But I have 2 $5 off coupons from late store pickups. Going to use them up today for towels I reckon.

How many knipex pliers wrench do you have now? If I recall correctly, albeit, I haven't been checking these forums lately, you got into the Knipex 'game' pretty late.

Congrats! No emails for both my wife and I, and we did not win $4 spin. Glad to hear someone is winning something. Winning any game for me in the last few days has been pretty sparse.

Yeah, only 2 Pliers Wrenches for me. :( 5" and 6". Ordered 6" in standard grip and received comfort grip instead. 5" only comes in standard grip. I was hoping to do 7" or 10" in comfort grip (Sears.com stopped carrying them in standard grip, regardless of my preference) with price-matches to Home Depot (~$51 each), but I wasn't able to accumulate enough points in time this round to even come close to that, so I went with a couple other things that had been on my wish list for a while and can only be had from Sears. If Knipex or UPS doesn't cut off Sears, and if Sears doesn't cut off the SYW games, maybe another Pliers Wrench will still be doable later. :dunno:

I also got a (much less pricey) Knipex end nipper pliers a few months ago.

Yeah, if I'd had more days like today lately, I could've afforded that Pliers Wrench. ;)

No schedule changes Sun.

They're probably filing bankruptcy Sunday night / Monday morning, but if they don't shut down the games yet...

Monday expected game schedule:
10am-12pm CT $1 bonus in app
11am-12pm CT $1 WW Xtra
1-2pm CT $1 WW Xtra
2:20-4pm CT $1 bonus in app
6:30-8:30pm CT $1 bonus in app
7-8pm CT $1 WW Xtra

Update (midnight Sun night / Mon morning): It appears that Sears has now officially submitted their filing for Chapter 11. What this means for us (which stores are closing and when, what's happening to the points program, etc) has not yet been revealed.

More details from later Mon morning

Well, I dropped the rest of my points this morning. A dollar remains on my account.
Waiting to play the games until later this morning.

Play it safe and only order in-store available items with points? Or chance getting one more order in through a supplier, but if it goes into limbo there's good bet the points will vanish?

wonder if it is safe to choose a Hometown store for pickup as well?

Here's some more details on what's going on. Sears is trying to continue the SYW program as-is, but has to get permission from the bankruptcy judge; the court hearing starts this afternoon. They are prioritizing paying for past shipments from the vendors they deem most important (I'm guessing appliances and tools), but payments for all future shipments (today and onward) are apparently guaranteed to get paid promptly out of their new bankruptcy financing. (Otherwise nobody would still sell Sears anything.) In-store would be safest but it sounds like online ordering should continue to be viable as long as Chapter 11 status continues. (It's most likely eventually going to end up in Chapter 7, but that's at least a few months away.)

Update: Here is the list of 142 stores being liquidated.

And here is a few stats about the SYW program and gift cards.

I just a dollar on the bonus game.

Edit: Make that $2. Should I keep spinning? My local store isn't on the closing list.

Hi, friends! (lurking from about a month, but finally entering)

It does seem like (close to 40 combined) Puerto Rico's stores are NOT YET INCLUDED in closings for '18, as our stores seem to be one of the things sustaining the chains (the double profit thingie). This means the stores will be open as long as SHLD keeps being a going concern. I'll be "covering our local scene" from my suburban (3 stores, 2K and a S + 1 Hometown) location.

To the benefit of any Spanish-speaking audience that may be lurking: [in brackets]

PS: My experience w/SYWR is that I've gotten so far ~$300 in points all by Xtra + WinIt and that my average winning (not counting any bonus games) fluctuates between $0.65 (recently) to > $1 / day. All my SYWR balance is from games (not OOP expense) and have constant contact with my hometown stores + some in a couple nearby towns in the metro area.

Welcome. :) Yes, I think the 'island' stores are some of their most profitable. I know the Guam Kmart is probably the most profitable single location in the whole company.

I've got $60/month coming to me from OOP 100% match deals (actually one deal was $175 back on $125 OOP) over the past 6 months. That is in addition to raise.com and gasbuddy points that are around $15/month. I probably average around $1/day on sweeps games. The ride will end at some point, but I will enjoy it while it lasts.

Hopefully, we get some clarity this week on future promised points. I'd even be willing to do another one... assuming it paid off before Christmas (I'm not feeling very confident about the Jan & Feb, 2019 installments from the "Buy $200, Get $200 Back" deal I did).

Thanks, Sir! I do think you understand the DOUBLE PROFIT ISSUE (items coming from the States w/a profit margin out of them at the regular price and them MARKING THEM OVER with more than the extra shipping cost).

Pretty much EVERY AMERICAN-BASED RETAILER (except probably The Gap and all its' chains, which doesn't charge above the States price for anything) does that, marking prices anywhere from +15-30% over the Stateside price (if I discover anything that wasn't marked on or stamped over I'd try to get them at Customer Service for the lower price and get it), which is above the +5-7% of real costs (except frozen / refrigerated foods) for PR.

It does seem my bet on Chapter 11, then 7 is getting hold (just common business sense) and probably the SYWR program will hold as it is for at least '18 (figure everything will stay put 'til at least 12/01/'18 but all bets are off after 01/01/'19) and no SHLD stores will close locally by that time, giving me ample time to redeem what I get with the games.

Between last night and today, I've re-accumulated points to $3.57... not enough to cover this year's new Craftsman ornament design that I stumbled across yesterday, but I'm going to go ahead and go get it this evening... I'm nervous that if I wait for more points or a sale, they'll run out of that one, since each store only gets 3 of each design. I've been putting my in-store OOP on a mall gift card I won years ago, doesn't have much left on it but can still handle this.

Update: I got it, and I'm glad I didn't wait... someone had already bought one of those 3 earlier today.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/10/16/business/sears-bankruptcy-creditors/index.html

"Sears said customers should expect loyalty programs, including the Shop Your Way membership program, and the Sears and private label credit card rewards program to continue for now."

It does not say what is the cut-off date. With many vendors jumping off the sinking ship, I guess the safer bet is to buy only Craftsman product?

That CNN article may teach something of how these things work for those "not on the know", but it is almost nothing new for those who seem to post here...

Like I've stated everywhere I've been (like on some YouTube videos comments): if you have a few nearby B&M stores and stick to mostly INVENTORY ON HAND and / or TO PICK IN STORE, please DON'T PANIC, you're mostly OK for the rest of the year. I have to believe SYWR will most likely stay as it is until at least 12/31/18 (they could surprise me, but I don't feel they will eff loyal customers more than they already have) or ~ +75 DAYS FROM TODAY.

Once 2019 begins you'll have to pretty much WATCH OUT and STAY CLOSE TO YOUR POINTS.

(wonder how inventory issues w/SB+D, who now owns Craftsman, will be in those 75 days...)

This is what I have been doing after placing 4 orders that never delivered for store pickup, and Craftsman product at that.........

Not trying to start a debate, but I dunno about ^ [added underline and bold]

I am pretty sure they can disable the points system tomorrow (or whenever) if they want to. Maybe highly unlikely but possible.

I also think that they do not care about loyal customer. I mean the ship will be at the bottom of the ocean in ~3 months, who cares how many loyal customer they have/not have.

With "please DON'T PANIC" post, you sounds like someone who is working for Sears and trying to retain existing customer from jumping off ship :lol_hitti

And plenty of us (including myself) have had CF items for pick-in store that keep getting delayed and finally cancelled, so nothing is considered "safe to order" imho.

I was browsing on Sears website. I was just looking for some 6" Scroll Saw Blades. After everything said and done, I got 6 packs for $10.76 after using a $8 reward. I then got a notice on a price reduction on a 108 pc Craftsman Mechanic Set. The new price was $39.99. So I added it to the card and then I received an automatic $20 reward which I added to the cart which then lowered it to 19.99 plus tax. I went the next day to pick up my socket set. Now back to the blades I also ordered. Sears said blades was not readily available in store, so I would have to wait 2 weeks. Not a problem until I get a message saying ready to pick up. Showed up and the employee lied to me instead of telling the truth. System failed to send order out and I would have to wait another week to receive items. I would have waited without issues because things do happen. After 49 miles later, the truth came out. Sears gave me $20 in rewards for the employees screw up. I went ahead and used them on 2 sets of wrenches. Got both sets of wrenches for 100% free since they were on sale.

Does anyone get 500 Internal Server Error when clicking the video at Xtra? Maybe their employees has left the building and turned off the server?

I believe the video runs through youtube, and youtube is actually down.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Thanks that make sense. I know Youtube is down but did not think Xtra video is run thru Youtube.

YouTube has been having issues (probably worldwide) for the last hour or so (like from 20:17 CDT), so anything that uses YT videos, like the Xtra videos won't load up.

Aaaaand for "avalon", NO, I don't work or know anybody who works at any of SHLD's (BTW, closed at U$0.40 as I'm now following it in my cellphone) businesses or indirectly related to them. Just a "regular José" (not my real name) that wants to be able to enjoy whatever SYWR points they give (went 1/5 today on the Bonus Games, the one hit was the 16:00 U$4 CDT one).

If "ship to store" is giving someone problems you should all also disregard that method too and stick with MERCHANDISE ON HAND LIVE AT THE B&M's to redeem the points. Just trying to "make sense" of it all...

...

There are definitely issues on SYW's side too - I'm now getting the orange-box error on the main Xtra page in desktop web browser too (before clicking on any game/video), and some other parts of the SYW site.

Update: it's been back to normal for a little while now, at least for me. Video entries are fine now too (except the ones I've hit the limit on that don't grey out).

Also buy that item at a register in-store - online inventory and pricing vary from the store, and they won't necessarily sell you the item in the store, they may ship it from another location.
