I thought it would be fun to share what tools you got this Christmas. This year santa was very kind to me with a new dewalt 20v max impact driver, kobalt torque wrench and a tekton metric tap and die set, all of which I've been wanting for awhile. So what did yall get?ef7a9ddea8a6f388903287d3cf595bb2.jpg

Among other things including a Milwaukee stool, my better half gave me a new floor mat for the garage - favorite gift so far.d325ad1cc48a516586c01c4d011651cf.jpg

I bought all my own Christmas presents with the sales on cyber monday when everything was cheapest. My wife was the point of contact for family asking what I wanted, so she distributed items and collected the cost. This means I got exactly what I wanted, and my family didn’t overpay by just going to a local big box store. Here’s the list:

Trusty Cook flat flat pein and plastic dead blow hammers
M12 screwdriver kit
M12 1/4” non fuel ratchet
M12 rotary tool
M12 soldering iron
Gearwrench 120xp ratchet set
Gearwrench gearbox XL closed end/ratcheting long sets

My mother in law also gave me a $50 Home Depot card and $100 cash. The other manly gift is an electric smoker my dad got for me. In typical dad fashion, he overdid it, getting me a huge smoker (capable of 8 races of ribs) for just my wife and I. It came from Home Depot, so I may exchange it for a smaller one. The wife and I also purchased a new French door refrigerator at Thanksgiving that is our big present to each other.

Got nothing.....

no tools for me either...
but thats not unusual...

wife bought me a go pro camera. now if we can find the correct memory card for it... apparently the geek at the store recommended the wrong one..:shocking:

overall it's been a good year, wife is happy with her gifts, kids got some cash, niece got some much needed security lights for her house, and her 5 month old has enough toys and clothes to last him for a while..

I got it early, I picked up a 16x46" Grizzly wood lathe. I've been wanting to start turning wood (turning wood in a small metal lathe isn't fun, haha)

Have already started modifying it

I have five kids, 17 to 32, and it's inevitable that at least one of them puts a gimmicky tool in my stocking as a gag gift. This year, it was this 6-in-1. It's a (1) pen, (2) stylus, (3) Phillips bit driver, (4) Slot bit driver, (5) imperial rule, (6) metric rule, and (7) level. So I guess they don't count the pen!

I keep waiting for there to be an end in sight, but every year someone comes up with something new! :)

Wife got me a matching 3 ton jack (Arcan 3 ton aluminum). Now with 2 it'll make rotations way easier. Maybe one day I'll add a 2 post lift... My first arcan floor jack has been great for the last 3 years so I figured another matching one would serve me well too. Probably not the greatest brand but they beat my old craftsman hands down!

Also got a set of non-marring lug nut sockets. Momma got a new car this year so I figured I'd try to keep those 20" gunmetal rims looking nice.

Lastly I got a couple of drill press clamps and the tool to remove the oil filter cover on my soon to be mid life crisis vehicle...lol

My little guy loves his tools , he calls mine daddy’s “toys” and always manages to find them when I leave them lying around

A pair of K36 pliers for my Diamond Calk tool collection.

attachment.php

Some neat drawer liner that has VCI corrosion inhibitor built in, so it protects the drawer from scratches and protects the tools from rusting.

Best of all, my brother made a nice woodworking mallet out of cherry for me.

From the wifey:
A Stihl MS261 chainsaw, a Milwaukee Fuel 3/8 cordless stubby impact, a roll around shop seat with drawers, a transmission jack, and a ruger MK 22/45.

From my 13yo son: a 1000 watt dual light set to help me see when welding.

My daughter got me a new carhart jacket.
My oldest son got me a day of helping him work on his truck lol because all his money goes to running around and fixing his truck constantly.

My father in law got me a new 120xp 3/8” flex head ratchet.

My wife’s younger sister got me a fox t-shirt.
My wife’s older sister got me an AC Delco cordless impact ratchet. Her husband also offered to take me to the casino last night and give me cash to blow but I declined. my other brother in law won $2800 so I shoulda went lol.

My dad gave my wife and I a gift basket with various items and some cash.
