Thanks. I got a bunch of messages yesterday when Rogan talked about my old video. He doesn't get all of his fact about the car right, but I appreciate being mentioned on a show with such a large following.

Here's the section where he mentions my Petrolicious clip to comedian Bill Burr:

And while I'm posting videos, here's a clip from last Friday where I come within a few hundredths of a second of a 10-year lap time goal in my 911. Close, but -- as they say -- no cigar. I'll try again in January, if the weather cooperates.

And yesterday I also finished a project on my camper, purely cosmetic but putting it in the Cal-Look or Cal-Style category with body-color paint on the wheels, chromed baby moons, whitewalls and a 1960s-era California plate.

What do you think?

That's the best application I've seen of the black and yellow retro plates,
Thanks for all the inspiration and entertainment!

There are some vehicles where the black plates are sooo wrong. This is NOT one of them. A great compliment to the style and paint scheme.

Jack, I have a whole new respect for your journey of reaching 1:26.... I recently had a chance to drive at one of those events where you get to take an exotic car around a track for a few laps. I did three sets of five laps (fortunately I wasn’t paying for it) in a 300K car with paddle shifters and my improvements with each set were minimal. While my driving skill is not even remotely close to yours, I learned the challenge of trying to put together the line, the braking and the shifting much less adding any change in track conditions as the temperature rose. I also learned how addicting that pursuit could be.... I am quitting now before I travel too deep down that rabbit hole!

I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and that 2019 = 1:25.9

Jack, you represent what's great about the Garage Journal and we share your successes (and that one tiny failure).

Enjoy a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with your family and thank you for everything you do.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We were up in an internet-challenged piece of the Colorado Rockies. But on Christmas evening, I got an email with a sneak peek at a poster a Polish artist (and car guy) had done of my 911.

And what? More pictures? I finished enough of the exterior of the camper to take it to the local park to take a picture of it. But we passed a local mural on the way there, and now I've got a set of pictures that kind of look like postcards. The light was just right, I think.

Re: Kids and the (now blue) fiberglass camper

I saw the first picture before reading and thought it was computer generated. Nice mural for pictures. Bring the Porsche there.

Looks great! Now all you need is a period correct tow vehicle to complete the look.

You probably were not aware that this past August was the 50th anniversary of the Boler trailer first built in Winnipeg. There were over 430 fibreglass trailers there. Yours looks good. Actually I saw this picture on the Boler site so maybe you were there.

Nice trailer....Bigger isn't always better

I was behind one of those about a month ago and thought what a good idea.
No seams all over the roof
