I know there are a few out there that like Freaking BIG grinders. I went to this estate sale tonight.....tomorrow is half off. This thing is huge and its on a nice stand. Looks like it was being used in a small shop so maybe its not running 440 volts now. The sale is just east of Moline in Colona Illinois
Thanks. As you might suspect, it's already spoken for by a GMTK guy!Lugz, nice score on that Williams 1-1/8"!

Is this a sign of cabin fever?
I have this CL buy Plomb box being shipped across the continent courtesy of a post on the Vintage toolbox thread.
No suckage here I more than doubled his asking to get him to ship, and still paid more in shipping than the box cost...

It's WWII. The WF series were made under contract for the US Army Air Force at Wright Field. Hence, "WF."How do I go about finding out how old this one is? Stamp says WF-24 Plomb.....

Yard sales were rained out, but I did bring a CL find home that will be a big project:
A 1987 4WD Toyota van. Its got a fair amount of battle damage but I'l give it a rough straightening, and hit is with truck liner or similar in the bottom rails, it will be used for hauling and camping/hunting and OI won't care if it gets scratched...
any faded rusted parts will get flat blacked or maybe a dark charcoal. it needs a LOT of toning down on the silver...
The "roller skate" tires and wheels got to go though!

The top one is Indestro.Part 2 of my garage sale finds.
Not sure what the top 2 are.....
Outlawms bought a Star Trek Shuttle!
Seriously thinking about putting "Galileo" on it!That's cool Outlaw! I never knew Toyota made a 4WD van!
Part 2 of my garage sale finds.
Not sure what the top 2 are, but the third is Williams USA, then VLCHEK, then Challenger.
All going into my backup box since I don’t use these kinds of wrenches too often. I just couldn’t pass them up though.....

Well, it's not a gararge or estate sale find. It's not a Craigslist or ebay find. It's a GJ estate sale 2019 find! Back on the 12th 454ragtop found this Craftsman Crown socket set box (see 1st pic). I mentioned I was hoping to find one and the next thing you know it's arriving at my home. I have a 3/4" Craftsman -V- socket set that has needed a proper resting place since I found it. Now, it has a home! Pic of the box as it arrived, after cleanup and with the socket set stored inside.
After seeing the box in person I was thinking this box might just be for a set of sockets. Period. No ratchet, extensions or breaker bar. After putting my set in there it looks like it could be for a socket set but still have some questions. Here are the sockets that came with it when I bought it - 1-3/4, 1-11/16, 1-5/8, 1-1/2, 1-7/16, 1-3/8, 1-5/16, 1-1/4, 1-3/16, 1-1/8, 1-1/16, 15/16. I believe it's missing the 1" socket (and possibly 1-9/16?) but clearly the box wouldn't hold any more sockets other than loose sitting the the ratchet and other accessories. It has the 3/4" ratchet, 8-1/2" extension and the 18" breaker bar. Does anyone recognize this or know what should be in the set? It would also be icing on the cake to know what box would have originally housed this set.
454ragtop Thanks for letting the box come to a new home and being so diligent about finding the most reasonably priced shipping option! I love the box!!
Edit: Should I open a separate thread to discuss missing sockets or accessories and other questions regarding this vintage of 3/4" CM socket set?
