Thanks. Nice early set.The set is 1/2", there are two stepped plugs; 1/2" to 9/16", and 1/2" to 5/8". I will post once sorted out.
$8.00 for the socket set, $4.00 for the mallet,$10.00 for the vise with power arm junior.
Thanks for the suckage..
So I went to an estate sale close to work at lunch time three & half hours after it opened and came out with an early Blackhawk !/2" socket set, an unmarked unused rubber mallet, and last but not least a Wilton #820 "baby bullet" on a Power Arm Junior.![]()
Blood test. I am kinda disappointed in this, but I wanted the case enough that I will take my lumps.
I do hate it when they over-restore parts thinking they know what they are doing. It really messes things up.

My first thought reading about the "cleanup" was oooh, I've probably done that before... As someone relatively new to tool-specific picking/collecting what is the line between 'as found', 'cleaned up' and 'ruined'?
Also, I've seen the cautions around cadmium plated stuff but I'm still not exactly sure how to ID it. Any other health related "cleanup" advice?

JD,
Click here to see three sockets, bare steel, cadmium, and chromed, side-by-side-by-side. Cadmium is unmistakable (edit: once you know what it looks like). It is gray, dull, soft, and a little grainy, versus bright, hard, and smooth.

Long live ignorant, careless, or lazy people who don't do a little research before selling their stuff!

I've got a lot of catching up to do!

I have found a couple of Pierce Arrow marked tools in the wild and they sold quickly on eBay with a substantial profit. Some interesting wrenches.
-Pierce Arrow Williams wrench, old Mac combo, Proto Los Angeles angle, Winchester open end, Scholler 4” adjustable from my neck of the woods.
-Drew and Stevens Walden? offset wrenches.
Pile of ignition wrenches. Bunch of Meteor, Duro, a Fairmount, Herbrand, Mac, angle wrench maybe Mac or Cornwell and combo with no visible name.
-Plomb offset screwdriver, Snap On chisel, Proto punch, Plomb punch, Vandium Tool Co punch.
-Stevens Walden socket box.
-3/8 Wright ratchet. These are so common but I never see them. Finally find
one in rough shape but working.
1/2” snap on sliding t
Sockets- Snap On, Truth,Herbrand, Mac, 2 Kobalt, Snap On impact
Hinsdale 9/32” t handle
Blackhawk 1/4 extension. I initially threw it aside because I thought it was Oxwall!
-1/4 sockets- mix of Duro, Indestro Select, walden Thorsen, etc.

Nice snag on that Wright, 3bay. Those aren't common here, I find older sockets and wrenches frequently but all round head rats.
