What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Drilled 2 extra holes in the base of my new Kreg K5 when I wasn't paying attention and forgot to adjust the height on it.

Have a few of those on mine too...

First time I used it, I read the instructions and did everything correct. Second time I used it, I 'knew what I was doing' and put holes straight into the base.

Haven't made that mistake since.

I did some more re-arranging of stuff in the shop trying to clear up some more space. I'm hoping to get a workbench built tomorrow so that I can start unpacking more of the boxes with the smaller tools in them.

Worked on my RT Magnum today.

Had to move it back a few feet to pass a green waste barrel through so I could do yardwork..

She cranked but wouldn’t fire. I JUST put a new fuel pump in a couple months back, and could hear it prime. But I wasn’t getting fuel at the rail. So, I grabbed the vacuum pump and pulled about 100ml of gasoline through, which 20ml was water....

After that, she fired up and ran great! I thought I was having camshaft and lifter issues, but after today, I just don’t know. There is STILL a high RPM misfire on number 8 (P0308) and a random misfire code (P0300) which i am sure may just be the water in the system.... and the battery has stopped holding a charge, though the alternator is putting out sufficient voltage.....

But, all that will have to wait, as I have other projects to attend to...

Well, it was a 2 week project but I finished up the 2002 Triumph America barn find. I think it turned out great.....with only 900 miles its basically a new bike

That looks awesome! I laughed at "barn find" and 2002 until I saw that it only had 900 miles. Yeah, probably been in a barn since 2002. Very nice bike.

I installed a new suspension on my 4Runner. After selling my ‘67 Cougar last summer, I’ve wanted to tinker with something, so I turned my evil hands on the unsuspecting Toyota. I tossed on Bilstein 6112/5160 shocks, some 1.5” lift Wheelers Offroad T13 Springs, new wheels and tires. My son even helped a little bit.

Love the 4Runner. I like the paint and wheel color combo. 4Runners are on my list for my next vehicle (will be a quite some time).

He giveth and he taketh.....

The magnum is running better. But then I started in on the accord. Yup. Motor mount “mount” is broken off the block...

Dunno if I’m gonna proceed from here. Needs body work and now a motor.... might just send it to pick a part and have to eat the difference.... dammit...

Finally got to spray for bugs inside & out... It's been nothing but rain since for the last 3 months. Hopefully the forecast will be right and we'll be dry for several more days before any rain chances...

Also sprayed my rose bush because the Japanese Beetles have started to appear...

Thanks! Yeah, still not sure 2002 qualifies for barn find but it was found in a barn and was last tagged in '03.

Took this week off to enjoy the sunshine and nice weather since work gets slow into the summer. Spent most of today sanding down the boat in preparation for gel coat tomorrow... Wishful thinking that I would be ready to flip the boat back over this week, but family activities and leisure took up most of the beginning of the week.

More updates tomorrow!

Don't do that Kay! I once worked with a guy with a glass eye. Guess how he lost it?

Assembled the painted parts of the Kennedy box I'm preparing for my drill press base today. I like how it's turning out.44cf69da34d82b1ad0d220b057b44c93.jpgd1a9dd0fd29f0b81e92918133a173a6c.jpg

Trying to decide if I should tear down this vw motor and repaint it. I am not a fan of the red for the buggy it is going in. Never broke down a vw engine before. a05efe0fe41c16c5a0c04b6d68f36049.jpg

They're pretty easy. Some break down all by themselves... :lol_hitti

I couldn't resist...

Put the roller tires, manual computer, fan belt and battery on the 91 Mustang and drove it to the gas store (illegally)to get some fresh gas in her. Then I pulled and adjusted on the convertible top and got it done except for the bottom edge of the rear window and the well liner installed!

Of my (5) 8' and (1) 4' fluorescent fixtures only 2 of them were illuminating. I picked up some new fluorescent T12's since I hadn't budgeted replacing the fixtures yet. Wouldn't you know that three of the fixtures are dead. They look like 10+ year old cheapos. Considering expediting the upgrade so I can get a little more work done without using lamps to fill in the gaps

I was sitting there and minding my own business. My daughter asked if I might be interedted in looking for a new truck with her. We had a nice day together and she bought lunch at a Jewish Deli. I had the best Montreal Smoked Beef sandwich and Kosher pickle ever. I think she has settled on a Ram 1500 Classic, 4X4. I agree.

Have been color sanding and polishing this '55 Thunderbird for a client. This is the first car that I have done any polishing on since I installed the Atlas in-ground scissor lift and it's tough to overstate how much it helps not having to bend down to work on the lower areas of the sides.

I tried to get a cab fan working in a tractor and ended up cursing the engineer who came up with the original wiring route and then the guy who wired the fan once with 22 gauge wire. I will wait until it is a bit cooler to fix that mess.

Helped the neighbor kids get their Honda going.

It’s been sitting for a year. I’ve made a couple attempts to buy it but no real dollar figure came from them.

So today, I see them messing with it.

They’re trying to jump it. No go. So I hand them my battery charger with 200amp start function. No go. No power to the headlights even... battery tested at 6 volts. Ugh...

So after a bit of looking around, the 80a fuse was blown. Replaced it. Jumped the car, and it started and ran great.

They’re going to replace the main relay as well since the symptoms they’re describing and parts previously replaced, point me to the main relay.

But. For now. It runs :)

One step forward, three steps back today. Ended up just getting pissed off and discouraged at the outcome of the first coat of gel coat on the hull. The final coat of epoxy prior to painting ended up running real bad. I sanded out the runs to what I thought was a good and smooth finish, but they showed through like a sore thumb in the white gel coat. Time to sand it all down smooth again and try a new coat of gel. Safe to say I took the rest of the day off.

Got six more LED replacement bulbs from Amazon - used 4 to finish the LED conversion in the detached garage so I'm all LED there now. Plan to use the other two to experiment in the attached garage to see if I want to change over there also. You would think it would be a slam dunk but no - it's not. I changed the bulbs in there a few years ago so I might not get more light and there is plenty of life left in the bulbs and the ballasts.
I also did some JB Weld action on the 'grill' on the front of my mower. I mounted a LED light on it that sticks out just enough for me to hit something finally and break the grill bar it was mounted to.

Just too damn hot and humid out to do anything outside, never mind in the garage without A/C (yet). So it was back to painting some more interior walls and trim.

House AC went out and we are in the midst of a heat wave. Blows warm air. Cut the power and pulled the access panel off the back of the A.C. unit outside. There to my amazement I found one wire broken off its terminal end and just hanging there. Installed a new terminal end, reconnected the wire and everything working again!

Changed oil in the wifes GTI, my Cruze, the Suburban, fixed the old recliner, then cleaned up a bit. It's stinkin hot again today.

Did your torque the oil filters to spec? Tighten by hand? Use a filter wrench? What is your method of tightening the filter?

How many oil changes have you done in the past?

Several types of watermelons! I'll let you know when I bring the 1rst one "into" the garage to eat it[emoji16], probably late Sept.
