It's 1/2".
Congrats on a great find. About 90% of my taps/dies are Greenfield and believe they are "Top of the heap" also.
3bay,
What does the selector side of that ratchet look like? Or did I miss that picture?

I think that's "manufactured USA", not Millers Falls.

Sunday one-day estate sale yield:
North Bros. Yankee 31A Ratcheting Screwdriver--$6
It's been a while since I've posted. I found a nice bit of Plomb sockets and ratchets last week but never got around to posting. Maybe I'll just post those directly in the Plomb thread. Anyways, here's my find for this week.
I got to an estate sale right as it was starting. It advertised Snap-on, Mac and Blue Point tools, and surprisingly, not very many people showed up! Screwdrivers, wrenches, and picks were $1 each. Sockets/extensions were $2 each. Pliers were $3 each. I was excited for the Snap-on 2nd gen hard handles as they're my favorite. One of the old Snap-on screwdrivers is a triangle handle and I've never seen one in the wild before. Kind of a neat find!
Picked this up at the same sale for $75. It's missing a couple pieces, so I've got to buy a few replacements.
I had a few more sales planned, but decided to call it a day after this one as I had a lot to get done at home. I kept thinking about the sale for the rest of the day and I decided to make a trip back, hopefully to find a few straggler taps and dies from the set I bought earlier. I got there as they were closing up. I grabbed another bucket and started filling it up. They guy in charge of the tools was superfriendly and excited to see me back. He kept throwing in freebies and gave me really great prices on everything else. All in I spent $25 on the second trip. Here's the pics:
Blue Point Noid set (free!)
Helicoil spark plug repair kit (free!)
Snap-on spindle rethread set ($5)
Snap-on Fuel fitting set ($5)
Blue Point butane solder gun ($1)
Blue Point screw extractor set ($1)
Blue Point metric tap and die set (not pictured, $5)
Bonney 3/8 & 1/4 ratchet rebuild kits (free!)
3 Snap-on test lights ($1 each)
Snap-on Octogrip pliers ($1 each)
Blue Point cutters ($1)
4 Snap-on hex sockets and 1 Matco ($2 total)
Everything else in the photo was a freebie!
It was a nice second trip. I did end up finding a couple pieces from the tap and die kit, plus got some great deals on everything else!

I'm not so sure, I think sometimes the idea that the tools are going to someone who appreciates them makes up for the low price.
Thanks. I just checked what these have been selling for on eBay. I was shocked. I don’t think that they will be with me long!Nice looking Handyboy.
That is a nice set of early craftsman. Even some metrics. We found a likely looking estate sale about 15 minutes from home. It looked like the previous owner of the tools had spent a lot of time at the Oakland Sears store. Plenty of Crown items and a complete early =v= cad plated set in a heritage box. A nice set of Indestro midget sockets, along with an 8 point Plomb and a Wizard socket.

Edit... I cleaned it up today and it looks almost new.
As you can see (See Pics 1 through 5), it was an actual book published in 1945 by Macmillan, called “Ahoy Shipmate!” by Henry Lent. Someone cut out the middle of all the pages, pasted a different title on the cover, and the punchline on the back. Really convincing work!Lugz, pm incoming on the book.
Thorsen metric combo set (missing a few numbers) and Easco small metric set.
Multi weight maul set, jumbo 4-way maul, and Stanley hammer.
Multiple Craftsman (v or g), S-K, and a few Proto sockets, etc. Vintage Bluepoint boxocket, Craftsman pliers and some misc gauges, extension, and punches.

Craftsman engraver.
Vintage Craftsman angle grinder drill attachment.
Anyone know the age of this attachment?
Wind chill in the 20's but I had an okay morning for how dang cold it was. Got all this for routine flea market prices from "Fish," the loudmouth liquidator I swore I would never buy from again. He is either desperate or I caught him on his meds.
Going to meet Smokeshadow for the last swap of the season! Should be good.
And that wasn't hugel:lots of goodness last Saturday. are the mf branded vice grips Miller falls?
Cool! That looks like it's a Mephisto Tool Co tool (1940's and later...), as opposed to the earlier W.A. Ives Company that used the fancified Mephisto brand, but still uncommon. Nice find!Mephisto saw,
