$1.10 all in two plays too, the rest absolutely nothing. That and the price drop on one of my items made it incredibly difficult to redeem the points, freecash and get the total where I wanted.

It is frustrating how even when you get to a decent total (anything over $1) nowadays, you have to lose so many more times in a row than it used to be.

Thanks for mentioning that prices went down on something again, I checked and hopefully I'll be able to get another $2 back from chat when I get around to it later today. :)

Sunday expected game schedule:
1-7pm CT tiny bonus in app
2-3pm CT $4 WW Xtra
7-8pm CT $5 WW Xtra

I usually do these in the evening half to back, there will be times I debate if its even worth it only to win two or three at the very end. I’d rather them scatter a bunch of $.05 around so at least I feel like I’m winning. They probably actually give out less this way because people probably get frustrated and give up. The $1 one was when I was probably 2/3 done.

I think the dropped prices were the black Friday preview, I had the stuff in my cart figured I’d checkout after the SYW and they dropped at midnight central. I ended up being to order two of those small socket sets to give as gifts as a result so I won’t complain.

I successfully completed my big plan tonight and got a 10" Knipex Pliers Wrench for less than $3. :bounce: I could've kept trying to win more on Monday before my points expire, but I was getting nervous that the final pair of pliers would sell out locally (needed to buy in-store to use the texting coupon), and chances are I would've only ended up with less than a dollar more.

I'm still going to keep trying for points till my store completely shuts down in Feb, but that's probably my last chance for a deal that large. A nice almost-ending note.

Won $0.35 Sun.

Monday expected game schedule:
10am-12pm CT $1 bonus in app
11am-12pm CT $1 WW Xtra
1-2pm CT $1 WW Xtra
2:20-4pm CT $1 bonus in app
6:30-8:30pm CT $1 bonus in app
7-8pm CT $1 WW Xtra

I must admit, taking some time off playing SYW really can be an adjustment.....:lol_hitti

I noticed now that I barely use my phone anymore except the occasional mobile game.

Also I noticed I am not draining the battery within hours and it's lasting the entire day without a charge.

I guess Sears did a great job before the BK to get people really hooked on playing their games to get discounted/free stuff. Too bad they didn't seem to have the funds/experience to keep the company going around it. Rakuten & even eBay gives free points and they seem to be doing excellent.

I still do some programs like Net10 Rewards but it's a single spin of a wheel and you're done for the day, so it doesn't give the same fun that SYW gave. I am halfway to getting 2 free months of service though with them.

Yes, it is definitely hard on batteries! And between the playing and the browsing for stuff to buy and the keeping up with company news, hard on my spare time. ;) Worth it while it lasted, though! I'm still not done adding up all my acquisitions, but it's looking like over the last 6 years, I got around 300 items at an average of 90% off the at-the-time sale prices. Things I never could have afforded/justified otherwise.

Good for you! And Happy Thanksgiving!

 Scored a $1 this evening too. Hoping I get lucky enough the rest of the week to afford at least one more small ship-to-store purchase before they shut that off.

Anyone have any clue how you send your points to help the Salvation Army?

I got an email from Sears saying I can send my points until mid-January to SA.

But the email explains nothing and just takes me to Sears.com.....:headscrat:headscrat

I figured giving to SA is much better than just letting them expire.

Count me as interested as well! I may start playing randomly if I know I can donate my points to Salvation Army (or any other organization).

I suppose you could buy a bunch of clothes and stuff with points and donate them to SA. My guess is the link isn’t working yet or they sent the email early which sometimes happens.

That said $2.05 for today most in a while.

Wow, is anybody not having a store closing near them?

Seems like on here and FB, pretty much all the "regulars" are talking now that they are losing their store(s).

Are they actually trying to stay in business or are they just winding stuff down until they close for good?

Look through the past week of the Sears deals thread, I've done a few news posts... this has been a long time coming, and it had seemed like a good sign earlier this year when the Hometown merger was announced, but with the huge pile of closures announced *after* that merger took effect last month, it really does feel like the end is nearer than ever. A couple more closure rounds of that size and there won't be anything left except some Hometowns (if those haven't quietly dwindled away by then too) and the Guam Kmart. Only a few hundred employees left in HQ, including devastating layoffs in the departments responsible for getting new products ordered and available to customers.

Oh, and by closing so many of the "regulars" people's stores, they will lose even more sales at the stores that are still open, if the people who used to find and share deals that cause lots of other people to buy something are no longer doing that.

Yep, it's looking grimmer and grimmer. Small consolation for all the consequences of the death of Sears, but at least they've been generous with us on their way down.

Wow Sears is really trying to finally get more use out of their SYW Credit Card than they originally did.

They are spamming me almost daily now like "Get 10% off Fine Jewelry OR 12-month no financing" or similar offers for Appliances and Clothes.

Sears barely even acted like they had a Credit Card and even users in the Facebook Groups acted like they had no idea it existed nor the SYW 5-3-2-1 offer.

None of these offers though make me want to come crawling back to their card as with Paypal's card I am making for 90-days like $20+/mo (temporary double rate) in Rewards and after $10+/mo in Rewards.

Oh I got another Sears email and it mentioned SA again.

It went to Sears.com with a popup saying "Do you want to give Salvation Army 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of your points?".

I only had 61 cents left right now but I gave it to SA.

I guess they only half-a**ed it, as a second time clicking the email, produces no popup and it seems like it may only work on PC.....

Of course they do. Everything is half-a**ed with this company...they have no interest to get anything right. The ship is sinking so they can just ignore things...

Remember the mixed up I had a while back? PS ordered an a fishing reel from third party seller instead of Sears. Anyway, PS told me to ship it back and they will reimburse me for the cost and shipping. Well I am still trying to get the shipping cost reimbursed, close to two months later. PS said it was done, so I keep checking my account, nope, no reimbursement. Now the f*** PS said they can only reimburse the good, not shipping. Wtf... luckily I have everything on chat so I have prove of what she said...

Good grief. They should've been giving you an EXTRA credit for having to go out of your way to help fix their mistake.

And as for them ignoring things, it's hard to tell anymore when it's something that could have been done right/promptly and they screwed it up out of laziness/incompetence and don't care because there's nobody keeping an eye on them, vs when someone was trying to do better but couldn't because so many people have been laid off that the remaining ones have no idea how to do half of the stuff that still needs doing. The Hoffman Estates HQ was designed for I-forget-how-many-thousands of employees. They now have something like 200-250 people there.

Now about the SA charity thing, I'm not surprised it's not working properly, but even if it were to work properly up-front, there's no guarantee the money will actually make it to SA on the back end. When Sears went bankrupt last fall, hundreds of thousands of dollars they'd been collecting from customers pressing the 'donate to St. Jude' buttons at checkout never made it to St. Jude. And yet St. Jude agreed to partner with NewSears again this year?! With the way the company seems to be rapidly spiraling down lately, a second bankruptcy on the horizon could end up stiffing two charities this time instead of one.

Two things:
1. I thought about going back to playing the games and donate my points. But decided I am just going to OOP when I donate. Others may feel different, but I absolutely have no trust that my points will make it to SA.
2. I have heard about St Jude partnering with Sears again. We donate to St Jude so we kinda follow what they do from time to time. wtf... why partner with Sears again...

My baseless suspicion is that one of the Sears bigwigs has some kind of connection to one of the St. Jude bigwigs - such as being in the same country club, same alumni association, whatever - by which they could say "won't happen again, ol' chap, give us one more chance" with more sway than some other random company teetering on the verge of collapse would have. (Not intended as anything negative about St. Jude itself, just a general 'fact of life' of how things tend to work for the upper strata of society - handshakes on the golf course and such.)

Totally agree with you, not baseless imho. I can see that in a business scenario (give me a bigger discount/sweeter deal, and we will partner with with you again) but for a non-profit, sheesh...

I am willing to bet there are other companies that St Jude can partner with and make more $. Sears footprint is getting smaller, and the entire brand name is becoming less relevant by the day. There is really no upside here for St Jude or any non-profit who wants to partner with Sears.
