Wow nice haul!
I hope my tools don’t end up like that.
At least they went to someone who appreciates them [emoji106]
Enjoy cleaning them up.

I need to preface this post by saying I've been watching you guys post crazy deals for years and I never find anything. Today, I scored big time! About 2 hours ago I was scanning facebook marketplace to waste some time. I scrolled past this ad:

I noticed the Snapon box and was pretty sure that Craftsman wrench was USA made. They were located about 10 minutes from me and said FREE so I messaged and said I can come pick up right now. They messaged back and gave me an address and said the tools would be on the porch.

When I got there, there were actually 3 boxes. I couldn't load them up fast enough! Apparently they were the guys wife's ex-husbands. I don't know if he passed away or what... :dunno:

View media item 105320
I spent another 45 min just pulling everything out of the boxes.

95% of the wrenches and sockets are SK and USA Craftsman. There are some Proto, Snapon and some other USA brands I've never heard of.

Forklift is literally the tool with 1001 uses. Especially if you can weld up your own attachments and not a shop that must follow ohsa rules.

I picked up a 14’, 2000lb lift walk behind a couple years ago. Makes everything easier and safer.

Love the size of this thing, gonna get a couple more just to throw in trucks. Nutdriver made in Spain, rest Taiwan.

I've been wanting a higher quality snap ring plier. Took a few months of waiting but finally scored this for around $230. Its the revised quick change style with a button instead of a thumb screw.

I had 2 sets of the Craftsman (Kastar/Lang) versions that I sold off that basically paid for it. Only good thing that has come out of all the Craftsman drama is the pre-Stanley USA made stuff has really gained value.

Very interested in your opinion on these after you've used them a bit, please. I don't really care for my Knipex precision set and have considered these.

Band Aid on the thumb, open multi tool knife in the picture. Hmmmm :dunno: :bounce:

That looks like a great keep in the camper set. Just looked on Amazon and the price isn't bad. Not sure what the difference is with the (A) on the end. Where did you pick it up?

Couple of Luxor made in USA carts. One setup for pressure washer and car detailing. The other for dragging around the yard. Beats chucking everything in the wheelbarrow every time. Promising myself to keep the top shelves clear of junk and clutter.

Was originally eyeing a big Rubbermaid cart but realized I could get two of these for the same price. Have to screw the legs into the shelves as they are press fit which means the cart comes apart when trying to lift over door lips.

I got this one from Amazon for $45. It came from Abolox. When I looked, if you were buying multiple sets, Tools Delivered would be a little cheaper after shipping. Not sure what the "A" means either, seen the model number with and without it.

Good eye, but band aid actually from slicing it with tape measure lol.

DEWALT Double Box End Wrench Set, MM, 9-Piece

Nice work, slodat

Arrived today via the 'etoolguy' seller on the Brazilian River:
DEWALT Double Box End Wrench Set, MM, 9-Piece
Came with a very nice quality, heavy canvas roll w/velco strap, but I wish the pockets were also canvas, as the clear plastic will likely harden and crack eventually. The chrome looks nice; w/narrower beams & squarer edges— than Crapsman/Taiwan. But will have to see how they feel when I try them out.

# DWMT19263: 6 x 7, 8 x 9, 10 x 11, 12 x 13, 14 x 15, 16 x 17, 18 x 19, 20 x 22, 21 x 23

Currently selling for $15.00 less than at Acme Tools— where they're selling it without a roll pouch.

Didn't want to spend a ton just for DIY use; a better deal than the Crapsman/Taiwan '5-pc Metric Offset (45°) Box End 12-point' set— that varies from $45 at Ace -to- $76 + on Brazilian River.

Stanley Proto 7-pc Metric DBE Offset's - $98 at Zoro
Snap-On Industrial Brands #WS-7707 & #WS-8707 - Williams 7-pc DBE Offset's - $138 -to- $203 at Zoro (but only in SAE); Country of Origin (subject to change): United States
Other brands were more, up to e.g. . .
Snap-On 5-pc Metric: $300
MacTools 5-pc Metric: $231.

Broke down and bought the Mercedes-Benz "flower" lug nut socket. Haven't come across them too often but I've been using a standard 17mm socket but wanted to get the correct tool for the job

Ah smart Mercedes engineers thinking of smart stuff again. On the bright side it motivated you to buy a new tool. If any of my hoopty fleet had those I would consider buying a new set of “standard” 17mm lugnuts for $100 plus on principle.

Had some new dewalt 18 volts drills kicking around that I’d never used because I didn’t have batteries. But I found this on eBay so I might get some use out of them yet.

I haven’t seen that yet but it annoys me. No need to make a lug nut like that.

Are the bolts standard thread so they can be replaced or did MB use something special?

It's just a security head. Normal lug bolts, just with the flower head. IIRC it was an optional item when the car was ordered. For what the equipped cars cost when new, $20 for the socket isn't bad.

I bought one a while back, get used rarely, and only for "money" work. No freebie tire rotations, flat repairs, other nonsense for the 4th owner unless they want to pay to play. Very nice to have when 3 other shops have given up on that oh-so-gravy brake job simply because they can't get the wheels off. I probably use it once a year.

However much like electronic service reminders and other fancy euro stuff, it just kills that 4th owner who bought it for less than 1/10th of what it cost new.

New to me Torqueleader 1/4 dial torque wrench for setting bearing pre-load. Think new ones are now branded Gedore. Works like a charm and getting myself setup to re-build more differentials.

Nice. I wish I had something like that when I was rebuilding an FJ-40. As it was, I used a Park in-lb beam torque wrench (no longer offered).

Long overdue purchase. I've been hacking at connectors with the wrong tools for too long. Now I can do it right.

Turns out:

1) Auto repair shops no longer have these tools and refuse to work on older AC systems.
2) Chinese knockoffs are available at 1/3 the cost.
3) I can't stand Chinese knockoffs.

What application do you prefer the smooth jaws for? Curious because I have never had a pair. Thanks

I have a LOT of smooth jaw and "protected" jaw pliers.

I use them when adjusting anything I don't want to mess up... like jewelry clasp rings or wire in general... the last thing I want to see when I'm finished forming wire for something is "tool marks".

They are always my go to for repairing glasses, wire of any type, jewelry, visible metal objects that need a bend or straightening.

Also keeps the gnarly tool marks off of plastic things that need "adjustment".

Yep, Mr. Pines pretty much covered it but I'm using them for electronic work as well as gripping & bending small stuff that I don't want marred.

Got the needle nose ones a couple of months ago. Was using some small Craftsman "Pro" pliers before these. While they did have serrations on the jaws they weren't very aggressive. These finally dropped back down in price so I decided to finally get them.
