Is the hard handle version preferred over the soft handle? It seems like most of the collections usually have the hard handle version.

Not a collector but have both

Hard handle wipes clean and will probably last me 50 years (it is currently 30 years old)

Soft grip the shank pulls out of the handle so you can use different lengths (if you have them)

My experience of Snap On soft grip handles in general is that over time they will deteriorate with chemicals and "turn to mush"

The hard handle is a classic piece of USA design, thats why everybody loves it worldwide, Snap On can keep churning them out in limited editions, literally selling people the same thing (that will last a lifetime) over and over again!!!!

I'm not knocking collectors or Snap On BTW (I cant think of a better collectable hand tool), but one is all I will ever need!!

I'm not much of a collector, but have 2! Soft handle regular and stubby, and the long shaft and the 1/4 drive shaft too.

My collection has grown quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. I was able to buy a bunch of the NFL ones from someone who had the entire 32 piece set. I would have bought them all, but i was late to the party. 20200702_203743.jpeg

I just texted someone a pic of mine and said you need to get one of these.. Earlier he handed me an absolute piece of **** Screw driver. Obviously more like a paint can opener.

Luckily I got exposed young, My father had them when I was growing up in the late 80-90s
I now have quite a few more then him. 1 stubby and 2 std yellow ones, then 2 std black and 1 long black. 4 of them have the interchangeable shaft modification. Ultimately I’d like to get a black t handle and some additional shafts to finish out the set.

I collect them.

Some of the newest releases aren't on display yet as I need to extend the display rail, but it just hasn't been a top priority.

(The black rings near the tips of the shanks is airborn grinding dust stuck to the bit magnet)

The scientist in me appreciates that many have organized their ratcheting screwdriver collections in ROYGBIV order. Seems as logical as any.

You don't happen to have any spare SSDMR24's that you would like to part with do you? I would even settle for just a shaft of one so I could "Roll my own."

Just got this one off the Snap on truck today. It's a new color they just released. Also, had to order some more angle stock so I can make more display room as I now have 4 more than I have room for and am possibly buying g a few more. I never thought I would have so many. View attachment 1033777

I've seen your collection before. You are one of the few people that have more than I do. Nice collection indeed!

The purple, teal and pearl blue have been out for a while now, in Canada at least. Have the combat green, tan and titanium ordered. 2 are in, not sure which ones. Not sure how I missed the pearl pink one as I believe it came out when the pearl blue did. I’ll have to see if I have it and order it if not.
