Isn't a long stubby an oxymoron?

Hah I guess so. But I can immediately think of several places I’d use it while working on motorcycle carbs and engines while in the frame - spots where the screws are deep down but no room for a full length handle plus shank.

This is sweet, I would definitely use a tool like that! More details on the conversion please!

The part number for the Phillips #2 blade is SSDP42IRRB. You can also use the flat blade from the same size screwdriver, if you want a flat head version as well. I think the PN for the flat blade is SSD4RB. Going through my dealers stash, a lot of other things should fit too like pick blades.

I installed the blade using a vise and two pieces of delrin. You definitely want to do two things:

  1. Add a bit of silicone or whatever lubricant you have on the blade. It's pretty tough to get in dry. Stop thinking that way
  2. Verify the blind hole depth in the handle. My dealer cracked the first handle; I believe the blind hole depth was a tad longer than the blade on the shank. I did the next one myself.

I used an end mill (don't remember what size...) to remove about 1/8" from the hole in the handle to make sure the shank didn't bottom out and crack the handle.

Have fun making frankenstein tools! :rocker:

Sonic Tools is running a half price sale and I snagged a few things before the price went back up. 75° Offset wrenches 6-22mm and E6-E24 straight E-torx, and a set of ball hex grips. I really like satin finish wrenches. 51db5ea44cc77d0588dcf3d11328aa92.jpgefbb5129e696d9af02d5829375bf7077.jpg

I literally just bought it on amazon prime. It came super fast and looks perfect. Was in a sealed Tekton pouch with a made in USA sticker on it, then a smaller plastic bag in that. Looks just like the other posters. Don’t know what’s up with Tekton’s site, but it’s readily available.

And yea, they are well made.

Is that a Z? Resto or Restomod?

I’ve got 2 of them. This one was modded, previously and will never truly be a resto candidate. I’ve been torn between a warmed over L-28 install vs an LS swap. I have an Asian devil on one shoulder and a Chevy devil on the other! They’re both very convincing!
The 2nd 240Z is a pristine Arizona car that was under a cover, in a garage since the early'90’s. It’ll be restored.

New Rolgear 15 in 1 multi bit screwdriver. Made in Canada. Haven't had the pleasure of using it yet, but it sure is smoother than my other junker ratcheting screwdriver. e3905a75e498afbae0075c04ce190d33.jpg

I've wanted a high speed drill for a while and a few manufacturers make 4000rpm drills but they're not nearly as plentiful as 2500rpm drills, especially on the used market. My perusing finally netted me a NOS Makita 6501 for cheap. It's not s powerful as some but it's fast, 4500rpm fast & small too, the #2 pencil is pictured for reference.

A few items from amazon Japan since franks tools was a letdown/ scammer. Hopefully I will get my refund from him but I have my doubts.

He keeps saying he will get in 2 to 3 weeks. It has been over two months now and no item. I was billed back in July for it. I finally asked for my money back and he is giving me the run around. He has also tried to belittle me and say I should buy my tools from someone else like Kmart. The guy has been very shady and dishonest and disrespectful. I will never do business with this clown again. Eventually I hope he will put himself out of business if he keeps it up.

I've only ordered from Franks once. My order was just fine. I assume what I bought was in stock. No issues at all.

My dad was cleaning out his shop the other day, and brought this back. I'm honestly thinking about selling it since he doesn't want and I have no use. Still pretty cool though.
