Saw this light used on a drill press by Hondo. Bought it on Amazon for $13. Removed the clip base and made my own and used a couple of 1 hole EMT clips to mount the switch.
Not beautiful but boy does it get light just where I need it.

Bunch of little stuff:

I added a wire to the "heating basket" for the Samurai to keep a 1944 (alum cap, no gasket) Canteen from flopping around so that will be hot water... I also cleaned the canteen inside and out. (its been in my garage hanging for at least 20 years) - That should provide Hot water if not conveniently, at least so its available at times.

I also re-soldered one compromised solder joint on the KK mod 99 3 burner tank and the bubble test says its holding - I'm doing a longer time pressure test now... If THAT works, then I think the 99 is also operational. for that job I had to drain the tank ( I'd JUST filled it...), Dried it out (Funnel onto the fill port and I setup a small fan to blow into the funnel. it ran all night) - I could NOT smell fuel this AM! I then filled it almost all the way with water and used my mint torch and re-flowed/added solder to the joint seems to have worked!)

Repaired a zipper on the tent trailer tent, and restocked the pantry where needed. flushed and re-filed the water tank.

Found enough space under the hood of the Samurai for my 1 gallon SS wash station - it should get plenty warm enough for basic washing!

Friend called at ~9:30PM at a nearby gas station with no coolant. Filled it up, found the leaking heater core hose, drove it to my place and replaced the bad section of hose.

First actual work done in my garage in a long time .

Emptied out the wall next to the off-road project then moved stuff around to be better suitable when I get to work on it next. Hoping to have the rear floor patched up and new wheel wells welded in soon so minimal time of the cage is out. Won’t be long before I start liquidating the bronco **** I no longer need around here.

Added a light weight hoist and trolly. Not real excited about the control wire hanging, but I put it on a bungie, so it is above head level. Might look for a wireless control for it.

Also hung my wood racks.

Yesterday I picked up my grandpa's old set of torches. They are mounted to an old soda pop delivery cart / dolly. The nostalgia is heavy in the air. It's really cool / neat to me that everytime I fire up the torch I'll know I'm using my Grandpa's set. They are also identical to my Dad's set right down to the pop cart!

Going to use these for the Ferguson TO20 tire/rim change. Those rim bolts look like they have been installed since before I was born.

The hoist is a 440lb from Harbor Freight. I have it spanning 10 trusses. The trolly is for a sliding door from Lowes.

For just under $200 total, I figure it will be worth it.

Remember that spot light we all put outside the Garage SIDE door?... you know the one... the one that rusted out... you bought a new one... put it on the shelf... there it sat for 5 years. It sat there so long... CFL spots were in style when you bought it... now it's LEDs....

Well... I put that NEW spot light outside the side door of the garage... It's all METAL too...

Cleaned up around my project, cleaned up the shed, moved things back and forth between the shed and garage, sorted items being sold.

This afternoon I spread about 20 tons of 411 birm mix in the new driveway addition. You can actually walk on it without breaking an ankle. Previously the large #1 base and the broken concrete filling was really making it tricky to navigate. The birm mix really locks things into place and creates a smooth surface. Like always this project needs more gravel. One pile spread...... More on order.

Had been looking for a used tool chest to keep tooling for my new to me bench top mill. Nothing interesting or useful (or cheap enough) popped up. Went to the new Restore just to see what they had and came across these 4 drawer file cabs. The drawers are on roller slides and are pretty deep, the cases and fronts were in decent shape and will add up to way more space than an average top box. The drawers were factory sprayed in a textured black and they have weights inside to they won't tip when a drawer is open. They were on sale at 15 bucks each so I grabbed 2 and I think I now have more money invested in rattle paint so they kinda match my other boxes.

Changed some tires. These Bridgestone 'Battlax' tires have a very stiff sidewall - I have actually ridden several miles on a completely flat tire to get home. But, they are a real pain in the *** to change

Is that just a breaker or a breaker and installer? It looks well made and compact too.

It's both. It's made by No-Mar. It has an arm that pivot's down and then a center post for use with a mount/demount bar. A lot of people will buy the Harbor Freight tire changer and then buy the No-Mar bar for use with it.

Mine is about 10 years old now, although the new ones are not much different. I opted for the trailer hitch mount which actually works quite well, at least for me. It's never as easy as they make it look to change a tire, but it gets the job done. I also have their tire balancer.

This is what the current version looks like, with the floor mount. The overhead arm with the center post pivots up and out of the way.

Refurbished as well welded up a patch panel for where the PO bent the axle mounts and tire started rubbing thru. Don’t know how they got a 14” tire on there when I barely could fit a 10 after straightening out the mount. Still need to space the axle out farther from the frame thus giving me more than a 1/16-1/8th between tire and tub.

Not bad for something I found up the back lane, 60$ of parts n paint with 2 days time in the garage.

Now it can be put out in the yard.

I needed a spacer so I could mount a wire wheel farther out from the body of bench grinder #2 (the wire wheel is too narrow to engage the spindle threads on it's own). Looking around for an appropriate hunk of something I stumbled across an old screw jack that we found in the bushes behind the house. It was once about a 1" acme thread but now it's so rusted that you can hardly tell.

Anyway, some time with a hacksaw and a spin on my micro lathe (basically a toy, but it'll cut steel well enough if you're patient) and I had something mostly suitable. I also had to grind myself a weeny little boring bar (good thing I have bench grinder #1) to clean up the ID.

It's not very pretty but the wire wheel is where it should be. Now I need to sort out a DIY Fibrall wheel for the other side of grinder #2.

Well - to the garage actually. Vinyl siding - pressure washed the back gable end and one side. They don't get a lot of sun and were looking really bad. Had to get some extensions for the pressure washer to reach the top on the gable end. It's a lot of fun controlling a 9 foot wand with a 30 degree angle on the end. It turned out well for the first cleaning in about 17 years.
Sad part is - the sides I cleaned aren't even visible from the house

I picked up some parts for my pallet racking system from a local fabricator. Hopefully these formed channels will bridge the cross bars to make a strong shelf.

I stopped at Lowe's on the way home to exchange a few concrete blocks. 'I think' these were the only snafu during my online order in process. Yesterday was my first attempt at placing an order online. I have to say it was really convenient. I might try that again the next time I have a big order. I hate roaming around the big box stores and don't get me started about carting lumber around inside a store. Why!?

I spent the rest of the day preparing the area for my daughter's playhouse. Removed dirt and leveled the area for gravel. It took both tractors and little him hauling around, but my daughter's playhouse is in position on a nice base layer of gravel.

Made brackets and installed a shelf for stuff that gets used by the shop door. Hung my whiteboards. Seriously pruned the **** on my metal bench. Cowered in the bathroom/bunker, while a wild storm raged outside.

Congrats on the move but I also feel your pain as moving isn't fun. The house is no problem, moving the shop, BIG problem and pain in the ****. I wish you the best in the move.

I have an old TREK mountain bike I bought new in 1999,I only keep it because when I can't use my electric scooter due to surface conditions
I use it as a "pit bike" when I autocross or help my buddy at the drag races.

At the Drags last weekend my weather cracked tires on my neglected bike got a flat, so I figured time to for a bit of maintenance, and I have no other pressing projects this week so I was board.

I ordered some new tires and tubes
a seat with new seat post, taller bars, grips, pedals.
I Bead blasted the frame, used some rattle can self etching primer and Eastwoods 2k rat rod black out of my paint locker.

I started after work Tuesday and finished after work Wednesday.
Still has a flat tire though, since the tires haven't showed up yet, and the taller bars should be here tomorrow.

Good luck! We just did a 7 hr move, also upgrading house size, age and garage size with a lower cost so helps to make the process more bearable! Selling some of the bulky, less used and easy to replace items made it easier...but still a pain
