Home Alone style for sure. KEVIN!

Working on making some room so I can get the cool bench out of the back of the Saddle shop trailer, then I can do some cleanup and load things into it for winter storage. This fall is going to be a quick and dirty winter prep, I just won’t have the time to get everything done the way I would like, not a huge deal and I am sure there will be some “nice” days later that I can still do some things to make it better. At this point I will settle for keeping it so I can plow snow without having to weave around like an obstacle course.

I couldn’t believe it was that big a bump, needed to document it for sure. ;)

Got the bench out and loaded into the back of the camper, it is freaking heavy and at 10’ 6” long, there was barely enough room.

Also figured out that one battery was a really old one, it wasn’t clear to me until all the wires were off, apparently it tested fine in September of 2015 when I installed three new ones. Well after 12 years (it was a 2008 date code), it decided to give up a post. I am going to haul two others inside for some charging, I think one will be fine, the other may not come back. At this point two batteries will be fine, I am thinking about selling the truck since I don’t really use it for anything now.

I wasn’t sure it would fit, definitely had to push on the door to make it close. My GF wants to recover it and use it at the house on the Hill.

As for the battery, I think that was a first for me too. I can get a new one for $199 exchange and they will take the damaged one without a problem, I already checked. I know it would be smart to just replace it, so I probably will, at least then I won’t have to rework any of the cables. I know it would start fine on two, I guess it all depends on how many batteries I want to buy. :(

Dad wants to sell one of his, so I could give home my old batteries and just buy brand new ones all around, but I don’t think I will recoup $800 plus tax when I sell the truck.

I had to get the C-70 (boom truck) started, it is losing its prime (carb needs rebuild), so I opened the hood, must have been 5 mice staring at me, they ran around like the keystone cops. I had to get a couple out of the corners by the door. I hate mice, but they are cute looking.

Anyways I put Clark to work shuffling some stuff around, going to have to figure my plan for later this week/weekend. I want to get the SG as close to ready as I can. Also need to bring three more trailers over and put them all away. Should be easy, right? :(

I can’t seem to locate my air to electric brake controller, I am buying another one, hopefully the first one turns up, they don’t give them away and I will need one for OMO anyways. I think I brought it up to the Hill, but when I looked there, I couldn’t find it, will need to do some more searching for sure.

I am ordering some bars of Irish spring, for some reason that will keep them away as well. I really need to setup some bucket traps and also hang moth balls in the engine compartments of all the vehicles. Mice definitely can do some serious damage. :(

Yes Irish Spring works really nicely and smells good as well that’s what we use in our vehicles that haven’t ran in years we never have a mouse problem in there since then.

I use professional type bait chunks for mice and chipmunks. Amazon sells them, and the critters just gobble them up and die.

I guess I will have to try harder next time Jim. ;)

The black eye is starting to come I. Pretty nice, I suspect tomorrow it will be in full bloom. :(

They took an X-ray of the tooth, apparently I was wrong, this one was still alive and I did break more of the tooth off. Root is up a ways, so no real concern there, the dentist said it could be an issue later on, but only time will tell. They are going to fix it on Thursday, guess I will have to wear a mask when I go out. ;)

I stumbled on a Prentiss Bulldog No. 95 on marketplace, guy had lowered the price, look like it was in good shape. I asked him if he would take PayPal as I wouldn’t be able to make the drive (about 2 hours one way) u til later in the week. He said he would deliver it for a few, I ended up paying $300 (he said $275), he delivered it to me, saved me 4 hours of driving, fuel and tolls.

Looks like a nice vise, I didn’t get to mess with it much, but they don’t come up very often around here, especially not delivered to you for a decent price.

I also found the tag for the new camper, it was in the cabinet above the sink, super obvious location!

Thanks, I thought it would be a nice addition.

Got the majority of the coax and hybrid cable to the scrap yard, another $1,500. There is a small amount of just copper and some steel that I will be taking, but I suspect that I will be close to my original guesstimate of $3,500

Shiner update:

Spent a bit of time in the bucket truck, but around my eye is swollen so it is effecting my depth perception a bit. Going to ice it and take it easy.

nice shiner.

When you bring in that much are you questioned about it? Or because they know you, no questions.

So far it seems you are doing pretty good with the scraps.

Nice recycle checks! do you get to keep that or is it company money? just curious.

Glad your head bump is receding, sorry it is puddling at your eye. Please don't let it hurt your eye (too much pressure on the eye)? Maybe the doctor can drain that?

Good to see progress for you.

Cas, they know me, but they also keep records on file, the money is all for me, it is my company taking the tower down.

S&A, The eye doesn’t feel like it has any real pressure on it, I just see the bulge from it in my peripheral vision and it is weird. I am icing it now, headed home soon.

Nope, I would say trailer if I bought one. The supplies are probably really tools, but it was stuff that I needed. Had to buy some more 12 volt float chargers, also bought a second set of tire tools for the SG, then I ordered some adapters for to use larger sockets with smaller ratchets or impacts. I also got some more things for the drone, I really need to start using it daily so I can get used to it when it counts.

Took a cautionary trip to the ER, woke up to go to the bathroom at 4 AM and I was “off kilter”. They did a CT and said that they confirmed I have a brain. ;)

Doctor said no issues, could have been later symptoms of mild concussion, just take it easy. ER nurse said I have a hard head.

I think I don’t have a choice, I hate taking it easy when there is so much to do. Going to snow tonight, may get a couple inches and I am no where near ready. I hope it doesn’t hang around long. :(
