Recently went on a weekend trip to a hotel-water park. Wife didn’t know I checked out the CL in that area,ha ha. So we came home with this sweet combo. I felt guilty offering him $150,but he said”yep”.

Man you had to post that! I'm trying to talk myself OUT of picking up a similar Remline stack right now. They're great looking boxes!

Both tags have good serial numbers. Is there a date code in the number?:headscrat

The 1960s RemLine boxes have a 2 digit date code inside the drawers behind the pull handle. For example, mine have a "60" stamp.

Your boxes may have the same codes but I'm unsure when they stopped putting the stamps behind the drawers. Give it a look. Maybe the stamp is there on your stack.

My bottom cabinet has two big drawers behind the bottom lift and slide lid. Are those rare? The flap locks the drawers unless it’s slid all the back.

I have this Remline 7-drawer rolling chest I ordered brand new in 1977 from the auto parts store I worked at in Royal Oak Michigan when I was 17. Cost me $160 cash when I was only making $2.25 an hour..lol
I'm going to totally restore it with red powder coated drawers and dark grey Awl Grip everywhere else. I also just picked up off of FB marketplace this somewhat rarer 1960's vintage 12-drawer top chest to go on top the rolling cart that I will restore also to match.

Update pictures of 7-drawer Rem Line Rolling chest all media blasted down and under a tow part Marine epoxy underwater primer.

A 1962 Rem Line price list and another picture of a 10-drawer top chest on top of a 7-drawer rolling cart with the two optional bottom drawers in place...

I need to find the side chrome handle for a Remline or Powr Kraft rolling chest, if anybody has one in any condition or sees one please let me know. I will more that likely just have to make a new one myself.

Good question. I posted an old Huot top a few weeks ago. Pm'd Mr. Huot on here but he never responded.

To my knowledge no... they originally started out as AMD- Advertising Metal Display- they made boxes for craftsman by the way... at some point in time, they were either bought out or changed their name to Remline. Very well made boxes! I picked up this 10 drawer top chest tonight that has some damage but is in good shape other than that. Not rusty! Even came with the original key! Makes me want to find the matching lower roller! My logo shows a 2 digit zip code so this is 1963 or back. Date code stamped in drawer confirms this . Shows a stamped 1959

I cleaned up my Rem Line 12 drawer top chest I bought up near Flint, MI for $120...it's in very good original shape as you can see :)

So "Rem Line" has always been the tool box brand name marketed by Advertising Metal Display Company of Chicago and was always a trade name internal brand company name of AMD.
As mentioned in many other threads AMD was a contractor for making tool boxes for Sears, Montgomery Wards, SK Tools (Chicago connection here) and a few other companies I heard mentioned also in the past.

That is really a nice one! I think you got it at a good price as well given it’s condition!

Thanks all!
Yeah, I think I've seen where Rem Line was a tool box manufacturer in the past for JC Penney's "Penncraft" branded boxes...

Here's a picture of a Wards Powr Kraft box made for them by Rem Line I had seen out there somewhere that I saved to my picures.

Here is a picture the the cool as all hell chrome handles on my 1960's Rem Line 12 drawer top chest and one of the handles off my 1978 Rem Line rolling 7 drawer cart I bought brand new.

I LOVE the art-deco arrow end shape much better, the sets of stamped lines and of course the "Little Rem Canic" guy stamped in.
Man is he great or what! lol

Just as an aside, I was at an estate sale today and there was a RemLine machinists box, a Kennedy 520 style. Sorry, I didn't think to get pics though.

I have a wards 10 drawer roller and have had a couple of the tops.
They are identical to the Rem Line version except for the handles.
Someone should really make a vector image out of my scan from a cardboard box.

Thanks all!

Picked up this 12 drawer top chest today. I will remove the stickers and clean it and put it to use! I wasn't even aware they made a 12 drawer top chest but here it is... I also cant believe sears never sold a AMD/craftsman version as opposed to the 10 drawer with that big drawer that isnt super helpful. This box is really straight aside from the stickers, broken handles and a few screw holes in it...I will give it some love and put it to use! Anyone know how old this is? Is that the date code under the logo on the front drawer ? There is nothing stamped behind the drawer like the older amd made ones

The 12D is a nice configuration. The big drawer on the 10D box was meant for the machinist handbook, but isn't really practical in today's world.

My Powr-Kraft branded AMD top box is the 10D. She's not pretty, but I got the top and bottom box for $50 at a yard sale. Worth every penny. The mid box cost me about the same as the other two.

I don't know if the big drawer was for a machinist handbook, but I am getting rid of my 12-drawer and replacing it with a Huot 11-drawer. I loved having that big drawer on the Craftsman I had to put my Fluke in.
