I bought me another ratchet today. I was wanting a longer 1/4" ratchet but with bigger grip than a chrome handle and a handle that's easy to clean. The Snap-on THLXD72 checked all the boxes.

Finally bit the bullet & bought a pex expanding tool, not sure why I waited this long what a pleasure to plumb with plus I like the full flow fittings. I bought the M12 expander kit & what I really like is the size & weight, I liked the dewalt also but it was 20 volt & this tool works perfect in 12 volt & smaller.

Not a full size tool but a must have, somehow I ended up with 2 of these miniature floor jacks, didn't realize I had the second bid going, but they will look good in the shop somewhere.

The Amazon truck brought me the Grey Pneumatic 1/4” metric shallow and deep set.

I did not take a picture of it before I put most of it in my box.

I think that my 1990’s Matco box is nearing the end of it’s useful life. It is so overloaded. I am pushing my luck...

If you are looking for a new box and don’t want to pay tool truck prices, I would recommend the us general/harbor freight 44 or 56”boxes. Heck of a buy for the money!

Nothing fancy but they are useful. If you are a Subaru tech you know what you use T70 for. They are used on differential plugs and I think some manual transmissions for Subaru. I needed one today for a transmission and didn’t have one I’m the only Subaru tech without one so I bought this one. I’ve had good luck with Power Torque tools in the past and I have some of their older versions too back when they were GM Performance tools and they work good too. I was looking for a Capri T70 but I don’t believe they offer one. The 14mm spark plug socket will complete my spark plug socket set besides the 6 point version which I plan to get soon. I’m excited to try a magnetic spark plug socket I’ve never tried one before. Guy at O’Reilly was like so you working on some imports and I said yes sir everyday haha. I had planned on getting a 21mm wrench but they were sold out so I’ll probably buy one from Auto Zone or Advance or if the Snap-on truck shows up tomorrow I might go ahead and bite the bullet and get one from him that’s if he shows up because it’s supposed to be icy and 15 degrees here tomorrow. And oh yeah I got a bar of my favorite hand soap for mechanics hands. Works really good and now O’Reilly is the only place to carry it.

My T-70 sees some heavy abuse so I have a SO or I'd want a back up, have you ever tried the Nitro Gold from them? Best hand cleaner I've ever used, see if your dealer will give you a small sample bottle, you don't need much and is overall economical if you don't use it like GoJo and such.

Good to know you have a backup I might pick up another from Auto Zone or somewhere that way I can have one in my cart and the other in my box. I haven’t tried the nitro gold hand cleaner. I hear good things about it. I’m a nerd for hand cleaners always trying different ones so I’ll see if he has any. He has a dispenser on the wall but I am not near a sink when I get on the truck.

Received my new Matco carbide gasket scraper set yesterday.

I don't care for the color of the handles but I was told they don't come in red. They do feel like a good quality tool though. I believe they are made by Mueller Kueps, a German tool manufacturer, but cannot confirm that.

They look identical to the Lisle set.....

Picked up a new 4” adjustable.

Pros:
Lightweight.
Instantly fell in love with the handle ergonomics.
More capacity than the competition.
Modified jaw.
Made in Taiwan.
Cheaper ($15) than some others, i.e. Channellock ($20).

Cons:
A little more free play at rest than i would have liked, but works well in use.
Hard to find.
No metric scale, SAE only.
Black. Easier to lose.

18.5mm max capacity (most 4” top out at 9/16 or 5/8):

17mm headed bolt:

9/16 nut showing the off corner jaw advantage:

Head-to-head with Channellock 804 4.5”:

Slightly shorter in O.A.L. than the 804:

UPS dropped off 3 Snap-On ratcheting wrenches. I need 3 more to finish out my set, slowly but surely. AFF1A23D-2548-4919-A440-8D94582E375C.jpeg
Slowly but surely, because you only have so many arms and legs..

I don't have SnapOn tools, but those look really sturdy. I've used some cheap ratcheting wrenches and felt like they were going to slip and break

Strange that they have the length in millimeters but only in imperial on the opening scale

Ha!! So true. I’m a sucker for Snappy. I don’t have many Snap-On tools, these were a Xmas/bday present to myself. Ratchet mechanism is butter smooth and the chrome finish is outstanding. I have another leg to give so I might get that set built!!!

I had to run over to the other side of town, to run an errand for my mom and grandma, so I stopped at Kitts. I have been going there since 1994.

ecotec - that was an amazing score on those sockets.
I have been buying sets from this store for almost 30 years. I have so many empty SK metal boxes, that if I told you how many, you wouldn’t believe me. It is a family owned business still.

I used to go there for NOS sets of Cleveland Twist Drill in the original indexes and cardboard boxes.

It is like a treasure hunt. NOS is my favorite.

I had another place that I used to buy up the dusty Wright sets in the red metal boxes, but I never mentioned them on GJ until I bought it all. Hint: Warren Buffet bought that small chain.

Those are some large rotors there in the middle. Are you in the plumbing bis or DIY? Curious as I have been looking at redoing my old house with Uponor pro PEX.

Did you see my post above where I wrote it looks to be exactly like the Lisle set which is a fraction of the cost?
Other than the fact they are carbon scrapers, theres nothing tying those two together. I know Matco is usually a rebrand of someone else, but not enough to go on here. Plus the green handles and storage tray are very nice. I like these better than the snap-on scraper for sure.
