Those of you that have had the Vessel Megadora screwdrivers for a while, any regrets? Wish you would have purchased different screwdrivers? If so, which ones?

I've got a large order of amazon.jp all ready for me to click buy. They are all Phillips heads, because I have plenty of flatheads but just curious what the group thinks here.

Absolutely ZERO regrets! If I were to regret anything it would have been buying any other screwdriver before I knew the Megadoras existed.

FWIW, I have both cross point and slotted Megadoras. But you're right -- the cross point ("Phllips", although not quite) are the best.

I have both the JawsFit and non JawsFit in JIS crosspoint. I don’t think Vessel makes Phillips head.

I like the non JawsFit a lot better. Far less aggressive. The JawFit + my idiocy = mucked up fastener heads.

Thanks all for the feedback! I know that they were the darlings on here a couple years ago and didn't know if you all still felt that way.

Same here. I always reach for the non-JawsFit Megadoras first.

I ordered some tools and headlights from amazon Japan. This is the DHL delivery photo, not good but Probably still ok. I will see if anything is damaged when I get home.

You should be OK, Jack, although maybe not since they barely use any effective cushioning material anymore. I too got my Amazon Japan envelope today and it was torn in the corner. Most of the contents were in good shape, although the long Ko-ken ratchet is going back for an exchange since there is a cut/dent in the soft handle, which annoys me when it's a $100 ratchet and they need to pack it better. Anyway, attached is all I got today.

Do you warranty/exchange it through Koken USA or do you have to initiate it through Amazon Japan?

It's basically identical to the Amazon USA return/exchange process except you have to ship via DHL and then wait for them to receive and refund your shipping costs. They say that after shipping via DHL, I need to email them the order no., the tracking no. and the amount it was to ship it. When they receive the item, they inspect and then, I assume, put what I spent back to my Amazon card.

In the meantime they have a new ratchet automatically ordered for me which should be shipping out soon. If they never receive the bad ratchet, they charge my card for the second one.

Wish they'd just send me a DHL shipping label, but I guess they can't.

Everything seems fine. I also ordered a PB Swiss pick set (the first PB Swiss I have/used) for some reason I have received an extra set (without pouch) and a 3mm hex driver.

My latest package. It only had some coffee mugs and a few JIS bits, so I doubt it was inspected by Japanese customs, unless they do it randomly. I've never had any tape or stickers pertaining to customs on any previous Amazon Japan shipment. My guess is that it was just resealed during transit, as has happened before with poorly packed Amazon Japan boxes.

Just sent the bad ratchet back to amazon.co.jp. Cost to ship via DHL was 213 USD. Crazy. What a waste of money...
Will let you guys know if any further issues arise.

This is my fear with buying from Amazon Japan.

For the $15-20 savings is it worth the hassle of warranty vs just going through Koken USA, Palmac, etc

I should clarify that they should be reimbursing me for it. If they don't, I shall update.

Edit: I'll also call Ko-ken USA to see if in the future they can do an exchange, even though companies typically want you to deal with the seller during the return window.

But yes, if in stock at DRPD for instance, I'd kinda rather give them the business. And I think Amazon Japan's packaging is the issue, they'd avoid issues if they packed things a bit better.

Latest Amzn.jp order came in today, Taking advantage of the currency exchange rates and combined shipping, i went ahead and bought some stuff that i have been wanting for a while but never justified the purchase, alongwith some stuff that i needed.

Here's the entire purchase, i'm also impressed + happy with the way Amzn/jp does their packaging - no excessive use of materials, just enough to ensure the contents dont move around or get damaged in transit. Imagine that this shipment was delivered halfway around the world to my home in a brown paper bag and not one single item was dinged/damaged !!

I have to say that i've only had good experience with Amzn.jp packaging. Its quite efficient (no excessive packaging stuff) and effective . One time they neatly laid out all the tools on a cardboard sheet, cling wrapped the whole thing and put it in a heavy duty brown paper bag !! it arrived with absolutely no damage to the packaging or the contents. I was impressed to say the least (quoted my post from a few months ago to show the number and kind of tools that were in the packaging).

Amzn.UK on the other hand does the shittiest packaging in my experience so far. Ordered a set of Bailey chisels whcih came in a plastic carry case and another individual 30mm chisel - all of these came packed in a cardboard box which had a nice hole in it from the individual chisel which was running around during transportation and probably had fallen off a couple times before being shoved back into the box through the same hole ! no wonder the 30mm chisel was damaged and i returned it for a full refund.

My Amazon Japan orders were all fine, no issues. I've had a few US issues. I bought some fur lined house shoes recently, fairly pricey ones. THe shoe box was beat all to hell with a handwritten label on it. The shoes were full of dog hair. They looked new, but full of dog hair. They went back. I've got prime but I'm gonna cancel, I don't shop that much with Amazoin, and since COVID Prime is nothng special IMO.

I received my first shipment this week. It must've shipped direct from Vessel as it was all Vessel products in a Vessel branded box, loose screwdrivers outside the insulated ball end ones which had their hang tags. Super happy with them thus far. Probably going to be placing another order shortly as I need a complete set and many were out of stock when purchasing.

I haven't ever used a Megadora but I suggest you don't overlook the 700 Super Cushions. I bought these 700s instead of the Megadoras that I initially considered...

and I have since added the P.1 and P.3. They have comfortable and grippy gel handles that do not rotate. Even though the identification paint wears off quickly I recommend them!

I have a broader question on returns to Amazon Japan. I wanted to return some items because I changed my mind. If Amazon Japan didn't cause the issue, my read is that return shipping isn't covered. If that's the case, the DHL shipping costs will outweigh the return value.

Is that everyone's understanding?

Maybe not in your case because you only have to use DHL if you need Amazon Japan to reimburse you.

I have a pretty good selection of Snapon and Nepros ratchets. I always grab the Nepros first.

L to R, PBSwiss 3mm, Nepros 2.5mm, Snapon 2.5mm, Snapon 2mm, Nepros 2mm, Snapon T25, Nepros T25.

I've also been testing some of the Nepros hex sockets along side my PB Swiss and Snapon ones, and they are quickly becoming favorites. I dont know if I like them better than PBSwiss, but they do seem to be on par, plus they make some sizes and drive combinations that I need that PB Swiss doesn't. I'm not a fan of the Snapon hex or Torx sockets at all, but haven't found a better brand for inch sizes yet.
Dude if you’re not going to give a class on how to foam organize, quite showing your tools that way…lol just kidding! I love it!

Placed another Amazon JP order because I had to get a phone case (not too many Sony options in the US).

Threw these on as well, Vessel TD-BS2 and a TOP 10x12 wrench:

Looks like the KTC electrical connector pliers are back in stock.

Anyone use the KTC Clip Clamp pliers for those plastic body fasteners? Was considering getting Astros, but haven't met a KTC tool I didn't like.

Has anyone ever purchased the Nepros combination (or other) wrenches? I see a lot of info on the ratchets, but none on the wrenches.

Has anyone done the Ko-ken 36 to 72 teeth swap?
How's it been? Any issues?
Wondering why Ko-ken supposedly won't warranty your ratchet if upgraded?
