The 12mm does towards the back. I guess on the smaller sockets they do it a little different and put the words above the knurling. Thanks for the scraper recommendations. I love my Snap-on ones but can’t justify buying them for home I’ll have to check out the ones you mentioned about replaceable blades I haven’t ever seen a gasket scraper with replaceable blades.

Me neither :), but I made an exception for this one even paying full retail which is usually against my morals. Yes 45 oz. Hard finding a dual face hard/soft hammer in this weight. Hoping to eliminate at least a couple of hammers to lighten the "90%" tool cart. Thinking this one could be the one I grab first.
A while back when that thing was still a pre-production kind of thing they'd sell to folks here on GJ, they offered a discount code for members. I bought their Mechanics Set, and threw that in because it seemed like it would be handy. I use it constantly - far, far more than the other three combined. Super-useful to the dual faces.

There's probably a reason Trusty Cook can't keep them in stock. I realized after a year that these would never pop up on the blems.

I found the thread where that hammer made its debut, with a Trusty Cook employee discussing the details as it entered production:

I am very happy that the overall size is what I thought it looked like in the picture we got on this thread the other day:

"Here are some particulars on the new hammer.

Weight: 2.80 lbs
Handle length: 8.50"
Overall Length: 10.50"
Head Width: 5.375"
Urethane Head Diameter: 2.00"
Steel Head Diameter: 1.625" "

P.S. I'm not so sure about the weight.

My packing scale is showing 2.85 pounds or 45.6 oz.

My snooby tool gene almost kicked in until I remembered that I bought an oil filter wrench at Wal-Mart a few years ago. Over in the oil section, it was under a different house brand and 50 cents cheaper than the same thing over in the tool section, but no lifetime warranty. It's got just the right bend in it and it works for one of my cars! And it was, of course, cheap. No complaints!

Some new tools for me and new to me tools too haha. The top Craftsman stuff and the die cast beetles my dad got for me for fixing his car and losing a 10mm socket and a 12mm wrench lol. He said he didn’t get me a 12mm wrench because he knows the new Craftsman and Kobalt ones are horrible and I said yeah I’m glad you got the socket instead. The extension just because I guess lol. And I needed the gasket scraper because mine at home ***** so he picked that up too so hopefully it will work good as I have another water pump to do this weekend on his friends Grand Am. I still want to get one of the USA made ones from Walmart too. Even if the Craftsman one isn’t the best it was still a gift so I’ll always appreciate it and keep it. I absolutely love the die cast beetles I collect those and don’t have red or blue yet. I’m really happy Lowes always has them.

The other tools I traded with a member here to get. I traded my Matco screw gun that I didn’t use anymore since getting a Milwaukee. Along with a Mac 1/4 roto head ratchet that I bought and absolutely hated the handle on and a 1/4 drive Mac 15mm that the middle hole in the middle of the socket would not fit on my rail so I didn’t want it so the person was looking for one and I had it. And some cash in the trade too. But I’m happy with what I got and hope they will be too. The Craftsman USA ratchet is really nice and feels a lot better to me than any other plain metal handle ratchet.

Blake, that's my favorite go to ratchet, I have one in every box. It's one of those tools that just feels good, lol. That cm and this Klein ratchet i gave to all my guys, best set for construction.

It's been a good week for tool shopping. My long lost snap on guy showed up, reminded me I owed him $600 and gave me a pile of stuff I'd had on order for so long I forgot about it!

I got the body chisel set, and stilson I ordered in May, and also picked up a punch to keep in my road box rather than using my ph2 as a punch, and a little inspection light to keep in my road box (the last inspection light I bought seems to live in my pocket now):

A2AF6C03-C603-4ED3-894D-D390B5FD318C.jpeg

I also got a new multimeter! I tried one of these out on the truck and really liked the screen size, but couldn't bring myself to pay the $600+ he wanted. This turned up on market place a couple of months back, up for $400 and didn't sell, eventually I got it for $250. The screen is great, it's like SO have really thought about how techs use multimeters, rather than just going on what multimeters are like:

I like these, but why do you need so many?
When I bought mine, it was cheaper to get a multi pack as the single ones were nearly the same price. Trust me when I say that you will love these things! Truly a game changer and much better than a pocket screwdriver, although they have their place as well, so buy both 👍😂

Picked these Vise-Grips up at Menards out of the clearance section.

KIMG0005.JPG

Part of me is a real bitter old coot about Irwin moving those to China. That ain't no real Vise Grip! (Shake cane)

But yesterday or today I watched Project Farm test all sorts of Vise Grip-style pliers and well, the Chinese Irwins did fairly well, and the price (retail!) makes them a great value. So you got a really good value!

Recently bought those torque adapters, but bemoaned the space inefficiency of the large blow-molded box they came in. While at the hardware store, I bought some 3/8" square wood, thinking I could build a holder, not quite sure how to hold them on on the end I'd want to unlock for access... then I googled and... well, yeah, this is so cheap I've got to try it!

Got one today. So how does it work for these torque adapters?

Now that's density! (It's also kinda fiddly and if I were a pro it would take too much time to get at a certain one. But I'm no pro.)

Hmmm... let's take a look at my metric crow's foot collection. (And that one SAE that snuck in recently.)

Well, now I have to order a second one!

Oh, I get that. Years back I found 3 pairs in a small consignment store, bought all 3. I gave one pair away during a give away, I didn't, IIRC.

I wouldn't have bought them regular price but at $12.99 for the pair with the wider grip, I figured I would try them.

That’s a real bargain for a Rigid 300!

It’s not the holy grail nor was it even my first choice but I am happy with it. No more bench pressing my trans with the car on jack stands!

looks like someone is copying the Snap On holder; but I guess SO has patented their design so Tekton couldn't go all the way. The SO is better, but they'll probably charge you more for shipping than you can get 4 of those for. I have several of the SOs, before they charged shipping, and they are a genius design. So simple, yet....

I got some of those Ernst racks ealier this year and they are boon to drawer density!

Spring-loaded circlip wrenches have zip ties loops loosely squeezing the handles, a tip I think I learned from Bob Heine.
Velcro straps are a good alternative.
