Well guys! I must confess that you are not looking into my garage this time. That stop light is something that I'm going to go get on my next road trip up in northern Ca. I might just keep going up to Washington as long as I'm half way there when I pick up that light because I have a few other items to pick up up there. My party schedule is pretty heavy til the end of the year so It will be a bit before I can head out again.That plus I understand that those radial engines drip oil forever so you have that going for you too.

I'm still building the wall in my garage.
I managed to get some paneling up and the roof shelf started to hold some wagons or pedal cars
Should finish tomorrow if I get more plywood. So far all the wood for this wall has been donated

I know I should be biting my tongue..er...rather biting my keyboard instead of typing, at least until we see the wall project complete...but it's hurting me down somewhere deep inside to see that plywood blocking the tall Texaco sign. I can't be the only one?

Love what I'm seeing. Will that sloped roof hold the pedal cars, etc or will it be "shingled" and the displays will be in front of it on what looks like space for a flat area in front of that slope?

Nothing I could do about that Texaco sign. When this wall is finished the sign will not be that noticeable

The roof will be sheeted then I'll put some fence wood on it and I have 5 pedal airplanes and 2 Taylor Tot baby strollers to put up there
The bottom will have stuff there til I can develop a theme for the area.

I saw one a few years ago and went after them from that day on. They are a bit hard to find and the older ones that we played with as a kid are mostly beat up if you can find one at all
Didn't have much time to work on the wall yesterday but today we (Jose and I) kicked ****
Here is the area tonight.
Still need to cap the shelf and put the old fence wood on it for shingles and find some plywood for the west wall
then it's over in here and back on the El Camino

The wall is almost finished.
I got the roof wrapped up today before going out after some old yard art that Ann wanted
I have 5 pedal air planes to put up on the shelf along with a couple of Taylor tot strollers and a few wagons. That will be on my to do list for Monday morning
Here is what took us 4 hours to go get this afternoon
And this wagon that didn't travel that well
There is a sled on the back of the wagon. Pat will enjoy putting these back together

Old Pat is hanging in there. I see him about every 3rd day out in the yard and I spend about an hour a day visiting with him when he doesn't come out.
Yes a Washington road trip is blowing in the wind for the first part of next year

The wall is easy the hard part is getting it to fit in the area
I spent most of the morning putting the buck board back together after taking it off the trailer and getting it put in the western town 
Then it was the tractors turn to be unloaded
I carried it to the front yard on my fork extensions then went back to the chain to place the tractor over the hedge

I forgot to mention that Ann and I went for a little cruise yesterday and joined a tri 5 car club.
This should be a lot of fun. By the end of the meeting it was decided to have the club Christmas party at the Party garage
Only a hand full of the club members have been here but their excitement about the garage helped persuade the group

So is there any chance that the wall can be modified with an opening and a light mounted (red dot on 2nd photo) or maybe ceiling mounted to shine up/down on and illuminate the Texaco sign?
Having a very small garage I'm constantly thinking of ways to maximize stuff, so a wall in front of a sign just bugs me
...yes of course it's your party garage (you lucky guy you) but since you so graciously share it with us ...I just have to give you my thoughts. Of course you can tell me exactly what you think of them...or more diplomatically ignore them (like most do ) . Regardless, love this thread, Thanks Don.

I'm happy to know that my playing around is amusing and I'm glad that you check in often.
The truth is that I feel like I'm slowing way down from where I was 1 year ago. My energy only lasts about 6 or 7 hours now where I could go for 12 or 14 back then

your idea ***** big time. The reason for the wall is to create a Shell gas corner and cutting a hole in the wall would not only look bush it doesn't go with my Shell theme.

I've had that Quaker State sign for a few years but it wasn't displayed very well. It fills that blank spot on the wall great.
I'm happy that the wall is completely finished tonight.
Matt and Jose hung the paneling on the Texaco side today. I pulled a muscle in my back changing the propane tank on the forklift yesterday and have a hard time moving so I'm cooling my jets the rest of the week.
While I'm laid up I think it's time for another complete garage tour so today I built a floor plan on excel and labeled each area. Next I need to organize several pictures to follow the floor plan tour.
Maybe tomorrow I'll post it up
