Reading what appears to be a 754 in your pic, found this in a 1940 catalog, agreeing with Gasket punches. However, they were only $1 - $1.25 each, without the box, so you might try bargaining a bit.

Much beefier than my set.
80% solution, RTM. The 95% solution: The decal says 750-M. Although the 1940 catalog you referenced offered the complete seven piece set as 750, in a leatherette roll or fiber carton, the 1951 catalog (cat #35) showcases the 750M seven piece set in a green metal box. 5% off for me not being able to identify that ball end tool.

I was having really bad luck w ITCL at work. Wasn't playing nice, only showed a couple of DC catalogs, wouldn't search inside them, and my work was getting annoying too. Glad you were able to pin it down.

I picked up a 1235 Hex Drive set this morning that is complete other than the 1/2" socket. Anyone happen to have a spare to help me out?

Could you post photos of what you have, along with the length of the socket you need? I have one here that has knurling at the bottom and is simply marked 1/2. It looks like the one in the 1236 set, except it has a small step down at the top.

Thanks for the photo. I see this style socket in the bins fairly often and have noticed that there is a bit of variation. It's funny that the two sockets you shared are marked 9/16 and 7-16, illustrating 'a bit of variation.' The marks are also upside down, compared to mine. It sounds like they're about the same height anyway, so this one might fill the space in your set, depending on how fussy you want to be. Let me know if you want me to send it your way.

Some of you probably saw this on the 'bay because it's been up for a while. Seller was asking what I thought was too much, but accepted my offer and this arrived today.

IMG_4651.jpeg

I looked over this closely, and what it appeared to be was the Duro 820FA set that was sold through Sears under the Durobilt name. AA has a wright up of this exact 20 piece set here. If AA is correct, this dates to 1929-1931 and was a popular set for Model A owners.

While not as clean as their set, I believe it to be complete. I've got everything soaking in evapo-rust so I will have to confirm tomorrow. The nickel plating is all but gone on the Duro L handle and the 660 "handle" portion is very heavily pitted. The sockets however, look in good shape still and should come out nicely. The drag link socket even looks to have never been ground down or abused! Some of the "extras" that came with it were a handful of Mossberg pressed steel sockets, and L handle, and a 1/4 extension with a wartime black oxide Walden socket 3113.

I picked up a batch of early 1/2” drive unmarked Duro/Indestro sockets from an eBay seller. I was able to upgrade a few sockets in my mostly complete set and add a bunch to my incomplete Indestro box. Let me know if anyone needs any to fill out a set. I have several duplicates. After a bit of sorting through rusy old hex sockets I managed to complete a 1351 set to go with my 1451 and 1452

^ you've really been stocking up on those pressed-flange units lately!

(* I can't find that Kraeuter set so I am going to pass on that ratchet I sent you the note on. *)

Picked up these old girls yesterday:
52553266700_cb99b000bc_c.jpg
As you can see, the war-era box is full of other stuff, and the '60s box has nothing, but I have pretty much filled out the 1/2" set already with spares I had around:
52552155657_b9da7d9b14_c.jpg
Still need the 9/16" and 5/8" D-I sockets, and not too sure about the breaker bar, but it looks right in there...

Here is the label on the 3/8" box, and you can see why I couldn't pass it up:

This shows the contents that the wartime set came with. I have some extra D-I sockets.

Just picked this socket set up for a really good price. I just couldn’t let it stay there unwanted. I figure it will go with my Model A just fine. I am guessing 40’s or so?

I was alerted to this set on eBay by BK. A low best offer was accepted and after they arrived I added the missing wrenches from my spares. Since they are unmarked, that made the job much easier.

Funny. I found this pouch today in grandpa‘s misc box. Pouch was covered in mold and unrecognizable. Cleaned up nice. Set #199EC91DF16-3EE8-46DF-AB7A-9C16A4DC7B15.jpeg
