Very clean looking Rotex vertical milling machine with the powerfeed for $475, including a vise and some extra little machines. I looked for this specific model for a year or so before going a different direction. Excellent small machines but quite rare (slightly weird in terms of collets, but they are available).

I would buy the hell out of that if I had the time and shop inches to spare right now. The price will be 1500 once the socal flipper gets it...

That looks like a horizontal mill that happens to also have a vertical head. Lathes.uk says the dedicated vertical models were pretty rare. That's a wild looking belt-driven auto feed. Will be a nice project for someone.

I gotta wonder if you and I know the same "SoCal Flipper" :)

I misread that and thought you said "social" flipper. I just saw THE worst example of blatant flipping the other day.

A small backhoe was listed for $5500 in northern NJ (older, but just over 100 hours and immaculate), it sold on CL in less than a day.

2 days later, it was listed for $10,500 on FBMP several miles away in southern NY. Different pics, a few more hours on it, but same basic back story.

Ouch.

Yes, I realize that lots of people here probably do this sort of thing with tools and other items (Garage Sale thread), this just stung because of the prices involved (and I've been looking for an affordable one for years)...

Almost two years ago I bought a Husqvarna articulating front deck riding mower on CL for $400 (any other ones I've seen have been $900 to $2000). Seller just wanted to move it, said It needed some deck repair and the deck drive belt, both were easy for me. Seller was 175 miles from me, I was the first to contact him, said I would be there two days later cash in hand on Saturday at 9am. Got there leaving Green Bay at 6am, trailer in tow. Right on time at his place, mower was in his beautiful 50x100 shop in the WI hills near Dubuque. Made the deal in ten minutes, no price dickering especially for the way he did the deal. Seller said he had calls offering more money after I called him, but he stuck to his deal with me. That's the right kind of CL seller. Its been working great for me ever since.

It was missing the deck drive belt. No biggie, I used to work in engineering for Dayco. Not that difficult to determine the needed belt length, then off to Fleet Farm to dig through the belts selections to find on close enough. That belt is now running the deck for two seasons of mowing.

Compressor in the Los Angeles Area on offer up. It's a 60 gallon HF "Central Pneumatic" but it's the nice 2 stage with the Italian pump. Comes with a filter and silencer on the intake, a little aftercooler, and a filter/water separator. Pretty good deal with the extras at $550.

He did a nice job on the stand too. Wonder how you change belts, just "walk" them over, or if it's hinged somehow? I would have brought that if it was local. No Suprise it's gone.

These "deals" on new building kits that are available for a variety of reasons (mis-ordered, never picked up, canceled, etc.) show up all the time. Oldest come-on marketing scheme in the building industry.
Try actually buying and taking delivery immediately.
Hint: You'll have to wait for it to be manufactured.
