Teaching myself to TIG weld - possible?

I didn't read all replies but in order i think. Clean work piece perfect, i guess you have a good foot control which can be very helpful in arc control, good steady hand....dont dip your TIG torch in puddle, if so re sharpen and dont try to let it clean itself. I think practice is the best thing...

Ever think of giving up the air compressor?

I am just into air compressors and love everything about them. They are all Quincy 325-13 but hard to beat the way they sound as they start and unload. Lots of air tools and blast booth to feed.

    Two compressor hook up question

Another Quincy 325-12 no oil pressure problem

No actually the pipe thread port where the oil pressure gauge goes. Took gauge out after all the priming and started for a second.....Nothing, no oil here and this is the passage downstream of the hydraulic unloader so it couldn't work. This thing for some reason will not pick up a drop of oil...

Another Quincy 325-12 no oil pressure problem

Checked at opening where oil pressure gauge goes with unit running and no oil pressure also tried the oil pressure relief spring/ball but nothing. I will try the hydraulic unloader off the good pump. My problem is i guess thinking that the oil pressure is in fact the first thing needed in this...

I have got my extra one up and running fine. Back to the troubled one... As i said it has a vane oil pump not the geared one. I found a known good one on line and took it apart to check condition which was exc. There is a insert in the cast pump body outboard of the rotor and four vanes. This is...
