On my shed 10'x10'(from home depot), they just used Triangle plates (see attached) made from the flake board on both sides of the roof rafters (no ridge beam) I put 5-6 nails in each 2x4 and mounted them.

WOW, you could take the sections apart and use for storage shelves...:)

Newbie here....cool site. I put in Can (Recessed) lights along the workbench side, a few in the middle (above the cars) and some along the other side, I think 12 all together, with 3 switches depending on where I am working. I may put in a couple flouresent for extra lighting if/where needed...
