Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

The outlet box on the same side of wall with the switch has the Red wire in it. The outlet on the opposite side of the room does not. Sounding like I'm going to need fish some wires thru the ceiling/walls if I want this to work like I want it to. 😩

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

Good question. It's not there! All that is coming into the box in the ceiling is 2 romex cables with white, black and a ground each. I did not find the Red wire coming from the house anywhere in there.

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

Looks like the remote is connected to the black and white house wiring (black to black, white to white). The fan connects to the remote with the following: Red->Blue Black->Yellow There are also 2 white wires from the fan going to the house white wires I'm stuck again.....

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

Ok. I'm a little confused but I'll give it a try. Thanks a lot!

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

Ok, if I do that will the remote still work?

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

Ok I understand what you're saying. Thing is, the fan & light do not have any pull chain for either. If I remove power for the remote at (above) the fan, how will I control the fan? Ideally I'd like to use the remote just to control the fan part of the device and use the switch on the wall to...

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

OK I did as you suggested and now the switch works (the fan power is controlled by the switch). Unfortunately, now an outlet across the hall and the light switch in the bathroom (which is on the same wall as that outlet) does not work when the switch I installed is in the OFF position. So it...

Replacing old dimmer switch with new light/fan switch

Hey guys, I'm a rookie when it comes to electrical so bare with me please.:) I have an older dimmer type switch connected to a fan that doesn't work and I'd like to replace it with a new simple on/off switch (see pic). The fan and light seems to have power going to it all the time and is...

    Well Pressure Tank Condensation

It's not a lot of water, but it does make a little puddle on the floor which will discolor the cement because of the iron in the water. It's currently open to the entire basement. One day I may close off that area and make it a utility room. I may go with a dehumidifier then. Thanks guys.

    Well Pressure Tank Condensation

Another good suggestion. Sounds like a bigger job but may be the only way to solve it. It's a tight area with lot's of pipe to go around and I'm not sure I can get a good enough seal around the tank.

    Well Pressure Tank Condensation

I'd like to try this, but I'm not sure if I can get anything under the base of the tank. It's all plumbed with copper pipe and lifting it is not possible without un-soldering everything.

    Well Pressure Tank Condensation

I've been trying to prevent my well tank from getting condensation on it (which eventually leads to the water getting on the basement floor). The first picture is the tank and the red lines showing where the condensation occurs (only on the bottom 10" or so of the tank). The second is how I...

Cold combustion air intake making basement cold

I understand. But trust me I looked carefully. I saw that the house was well sealed up and that the builder did good work. He used quality materials for the most part in the house etc. etc. I just had no idea at the time about makeup air and I'm not an expert in HVAC. But this isn't my first...

Cold combustion air intake making basement cold

Just wanted to state that this house was a spec home. Yes it was new (actually it was built in 2016) when we bought it, but the home was essentially complete. We only had the builder change/fix a few minor things before we moved in and I didn't even really think much about this furnace HVAC...

Cold combustion air intake making basement cold

OK here are a couple pictures of the water heater. It's definitely exhausting outside. A couple more of the furnace which is is rated at 96% efficiency. It is also exhasuting outside but the intake air is coming from the smaller pipe and using the basement air (I can't believe it's not coming...
