Chain pots and receivers in slab of shop

Spot on. It was about $700 and a day to weld it in using a laser level to set everything dead flat. It saved me the $400 that the concrete guy was going to charge to come back the next day for saw cuts so only a $300 cost and my time. Only thing I would change would’ve been to put more in. I...

Chain pots and receivers in slab of shop

I put a grid of 2” tube steel with a vertical receiver tube at each intersection. It is welded to the rebar. The tube steel acts as my control joints and has been super useful over the last few years. A lot of my tools are on stands that drop down into the receivers and I weld jigs down to the...

    The making of a table

My dad had both hands operated on for DC when he was in his early 50s. Unfortunately they had to do 3 fingers on one hand and 4 on the other. 25 years later and they have tightened up some but aren’t as bad as when he had the surgeries. Best of luck on the recovery! Sent from my iPhone using...

Thanks for all of the compliments. I was really only able to do them because I was too dumb and stubborn to know I shouldn’t. There are what felt like miles of welds on them, but luckily the vast majority are polished out and I am better with a grinder than a welder. There are a few thousand...

I had the honor of doing a few large memorials last summer. I do metal sculpture out of my home shop nights and weekends. I wasn’t the artist on either one, but I take care of all engineering, fabrication, logistics, and installation for them. The curved one is installed north of Baltimore and...

I built the roller last summer for a sculpture I was doing. I’ve rolled 3/16” wall 2” tubing. I’m not sure how thick it will go. For the sculpture I did up to 8’ wide, 3/16” thick stainless steel sheet in a single pass. The roller is 10’ wide and made with 8” schedule 40 pipe and 2” solid shaft...

Upgrading 200amp service to 400 amp

I upgraded from 200 amp to 380 amps to run 200 out to my shop. The power company said the under ground wire to my house was fine and upgraded my meter to a 380 amp with 2 outputs. We put two 200 amp disconnects on the back of the house. One goes to the new shop and the other goes to the house...

Need dry bagged sand: Blasting Sand?

I filled a few baking pans and put them on my gas grill until they each got to about 300 degrees. I first started with the oven until I got that look from my wife and moved outside to the grill. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
