Stupidest ways you temporarily misplaced a tool while working on something?

I have a bad habit of putting the wrench I use to bleed brakes in my back pocket. Sometimes it'll slide between the flaps of my wallet. ONE TIME I couldn't find my 10mm for 3 days and finally found it in the washer after my girlfriend asked me to look at why it sounded like it was gonna self...

Had a Buick come in that needs a bunch of brake lines. So I went and bought a craftsman flaring tool, tubing cutter. I also picked up a can of freeze off by CRC. Heard good and bad, gonna give it a whack especially for cooling off stuff I torched for alignments so measurements to go out again.

Tool box costs to manufacture and margins?

That is what I mentioned above. It can be nothing or almost everything. So it's kinda "put in the pot" money.

Tool box costs to manufacture and margins?

This is a fair estimate. My truck guy will show me his margin. I know he has family to feed and he knows I do too. On top of this, you throw in labor plus 2-3 layers of margin amplification. This is what the factory makes when it sends the box to the dealer, then when it gets sold to the end...

    Side cutter durability

I have a large and small set of craftsman side cutters. Both are dull, I use the small ones as grabbers more than anything. My other sets are large and medium blue point. Not sure what they'll do. I don't use pliers of any kind as much as it seems most do, but they work better than the craftsman...

Wright Tool FactoryTour with photo's today.

I'll be watching very closely and try and get a buddy and I together for a wright trip when y'all figure out when. If spring/summer time, I'll come alone on my bike.

Wright Tool WRIGHTGrip 2.0 on the way

The video says that they'll make something for you if they don't already. Maybe enough people should inquire about long handle sets. I'm about to start revising my wrenches and sockets to get away from having 20 different brands. I'd love to be able to drop one chunk of change on a full range...

Wright Tool WRIGHTGrip 2.0 on the way

I would rather see a company make some good extra long length wrenches. Like 2+x the length of craftsman. Leverage!!! But I like my current set just as well. With a bar over them.

tolerances of hand tools a big deal?

I'm gonna throw this out there. You're a hobbyist. So you don't need the BEST, but good. I would say, even starting my career over again, I'd skip craftsman and move up to finding the largest, best 'master set' I could get. Something like Zoro sells for $5-900 that includes a box. Now I'm at a...

    Safest/Strongest Toolboxes available

So... This probably sounds bad, but I'm not concerned with security too much. I'm covered by my insurance. But I'm also in a decent area with a VERY strictly carried out evening lockdown policy. Also if you go for insurance do NOT insure purchase prices! Only list prices. I got my box for...

    Knipex vs Snap-On

I don't know much of knipex but I have their cobra pliers. They're amazing. I use them more than almost any other tool. And they've held up whereas my coworker has the vise grip brand of the same thing and he's on his 4th pair in 3 years because the ridges wear down. Sounds like others have...

Today was tool truck day. I was planning on getting a 3/8" torque wrench for doing engine gasket work and was doing some today so bought this snappy electric type. I like it! So far. Gonna take some getting used to with the buzz instead of the clicks, also need to read up the instructions about...

    When cost is not object...

This is probably for an aviation company that wants to unify the tools system away from personal boxes of personal tools. Or a VERY Hugh end shop that supplies the tools and has seen what losing a few can cost. Other than that... Maybe on a few decades, it'll look different to us normies
