Thanks for the fast info. I have a few older snap on ratchets and was thinking about trying it. I know it would of been kinda shady. But hey anything to save a buck these days.
So i was talking to a fellow tech today and he was saying something about possibly taking a lower tooth count ratchet and putting a higher (say an 80) rebuild kit in it. So basically you could get on ebay. Buy a cheaper snap on ratchet. And buy a rebuild kit for an 80 and rebuild it. Bam you...
I have the same set... haven't had a problem at all. I use them everyday on Freightliners and trailers sometimes. The T25 and T27 are showing some signs of wear. But for everyday use i dont think its bad. I've used them with my 3/8" impact and never had a problem.
I got that set for $19... the last time they had the cheap pry bars on sale. I walked into the local sears and asked about them. The guy said that they were out. The manager walked up and offered me the pro's for the same deal. I love em
Thats a pretty slick idea... I work as a Diesel Tech at Truck and Trailer repair place... And those old drums are laying everywhere... Might give that a try
Its always awesome to have days like that.. This last Tuesday I went out pawn shopping and came up with some pretty cheap niffty stuff. 1/2" Cornwell Ratchet, needs to be cleaned and looked over but works still. For $2.50... Misc extensions some name brand but a ton were from china. Mainly...
First post weee!! Ya i've been thinking about doing the same... only with 2 40" + wouldn't really be rolling mine around though. It would be sitting next to my work bench at work. I get tired of looking at the massive MAC box behind my runt of a box at work.
