Anybody using a Mighty Mule gate operator?

Steve, I was referring to "solar controller". I paid a few bucks more for a small automotive battery rather than a lawn and garden battery but have a 2yr warranty rather than 6 months.

Anybody using a Mighty Mule gate operator?

Since it was a gift I will give it a run and when I can no longer repair it, replace it. Any input on the solar panel?

    Craftsman Lawn Tractor problem

It would help to know what model. I have an older Craftsman with a Kohler Magnum 18, it had the symptoms stated above and it was the magneto. I went through all the other diagnostics including rebuilding the carb, fuel lines, fuel filter, cap vent, plugs.

Lowes / Kobalt lifetime hand tool warranty is a scam. No more Kobalt for me

I worked retail in high school and college, building materials to blue jeans. It's quite simple, don't be a ****, just ask to talk to the manager, and don't be a ****. Front desk people are following the rules, doing their job. Works almost 100% of the time.

Anybody using a Mighty Mule gate operator?

I moved a year ago to a similar place as described above, I built a 3-rail fence and wood farm gate that is 13'-6" and probably 150-175 pounds. I was looking at gate operators and decided I would go with Liftmaster but my sweet daughter's bought me a MM 350 for my birthday a week ago. I...

    Metalux lights at Menards?

I installed eight of the Metalux/Cooper fixures, also sold by Lowes in my 20x20 2-car garage last Saturday, two rows of 16' over each bay. The fixtures assemble quick but the ballasts are China'loca but I expected that for 25.00 a pop.

Anyone modify window unit to provide portable air?

We have moderate to high humidity in my area of Texas, evaporative cooling would be an option if I lived west of Austin a few hundred miles.

dry/cold chop saw for mild steel

I went through a few Diablo Demon metal cutting blades on my standard chop saw and circular saw, they worked exceptionally well but the blades do not last as long as I would have expected. I recall looking up the max. rpm on the blades and comparing the rpm with the Hitachi saws and I was close...

Anyone modify window unit to provide portable air?

That's the Garage Journal spirit! ;) It looks like most manufacturers including LG are using a 4" exhaust duct for 14K btu, I noticed two manufactures are using (2) 3"-4" exhaust ducts. My plan is 12" flex from the box to the attic, 4" provides 12.5 square inches of exhaust and 12" provides...

Anyone modify window unit to provide portable air?

I moved into my new place in May and the attached 2-car garage is all brick with two windows that face the street. I do not want to put a window unit in the existing window due to the security risk or punch a large opening in the brick so my plan is a mini-split, but I simply don't have the...

replacing two single garage doors with double

While looking for a house the past 18 months, I specifically looked for a 2-car garage with a single door for one important reason, so I can drive my vehicles in the center of the garage; with double doors I would have to skate them to the center.

Thanks for the input, my offer was accepted but I am not under contract yet, but I *do* feel like continuing my research.
