Steve, I was referring to "solar controller". I paid a few bucks more for a small automotive battery rather than a lawn and garden battery but have a 2yr warranty rather than 6 months.

Since it was a gift I will give it a run and when I can no longer repair it, replace it. Any input on the solar panel?

It would help to know what model. I have an older Craftsman with a Kohler Magnum 18, it had the symptoms stated above and it was the magneto. I went through all the other diagnostics including rebuilding the carb, fuel lines, fuel filter, cap vent, plugs.

While looking for a house the past 18 months, I specifically looked for a 2-car garage with a single door for one important reason, so I can drive my vehicles in the center of the garage; with double doors I would have to skate them to the center.

Replacing a tile is a breeze once you bust it out :D , if the grout is dark you will never notice the repair.
