Looks like a Rae vise to me. Pretty confident that's it, never used one myself or even seen any in person.

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

Actually this one has a tiny fan that makes a bit of noise but I don't see it as a problem. By the time I need a replacement I'm sure the tech will be way more advanced.

Probably, but you know what I mean. It's not something you get off aliexpress, has a reputable company behind it.

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

Classifieds, looking up store hours and items, youtube videos (HD1080p 60fps works well), PDF manuals, looking things up on forums, music/radio from different cities, etc.

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

The Pi is a really cool computer with a ton of uses but Atom based stick computers are faster and it's a plug-and-play solution for a desktop "replacement". Can't beat the Pi for messing around with though!

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

The price, it was the cheapest non-China/noname option. The Intel stick was another 40 bucks and the functionality and specs are pretty much the same. I guess there are sticks that are a tiny bit cheaper running Chrome OS but I didn't want that. If I ever want to restore it I'm plugging in a...

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

To put things in perspective I'd say this runs just as fast or faster as my HTC One M8 - which really isn't fast when it comes to a desktop PC but it's not bad either. It also must have a lot more power because it's running Windows 10 as opposed to the stripped down Android that's on the phone...

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

I am not sure, outputs at 1080p just fine. I don't see myself hooking up my 1440p monitor from my desktop or buying a 4k monitor for it. The fact that it streams 1080p60fps with zero issues is very impressive to me. You can either get an all in one keyboard/touchpad solution like me or you can...

Micro "stick" computers for garage use

Has anyone else ever tried one? I just bought a Lenovo version for 100 bucks and it's a FANTASTIC shop computer. Comes pre-loaded with Windows 10. I can watch youtube videos in 1080p or higher at 60fps and search things online, really all I need from it! It's tiny and plugs in directly into HDMI...

And it's done. I'm happy with how it turned out and would love to own a C3. I don't know if I like the Wilton design more or less than a Record no.6 or no.8 though! IHmachinery: thanks!

Worked a bit more on my C1 tonight, I just have to wait for it to dry and it's ready to re-assemble. I will probably brush the Wilton logo black to make it stand out but that's it. I did not end up filling the holes in the side with epoxy. I may do it later on but I'm REALLY happy with the color...

If anyone has either for sale on here I'd buy them. Ebay prices are too expensive.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

The Wilton C1 saga continues. I ripped the paint off with a wire wheel, gave it a bath in my parts washer and straightened the handle as best I could. The jaws are not perfect, even stick out 1/8" or more on one side and are flush on the other. I hit the vise body up with my angle grinder to...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

IHmachinery: Yeah, I think you're right about not being worth the effort. I straightened the handle on my press quickly and it's not perfect but it will do. It definitely won't be a beauty queen. I'm going to fill the little holes in the body with JB weld like you said, wire wheel the whole...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Alright well I picked up the Wilton. It looks like it's had a pretty rough life but the price was right and these are next to impossible to find up here in Canada. Still not sure what model it is but I have attached a bunch of pictures. I have a few concerns. There seem to be some very small but...
