    Blocking and purlins

This pole barn is 32x72. Half of it will be a small "warehouse" with pallet racks on two sides and a roll door on one side for moving tractors and equipment in and out. The studs here are 2x6 pine on 24'' centers. I want to put blocking in between for strength. I will be screwing or nailing...

    Control joints

After they poured my slab they came back and cut some control joints with a diamond saw. I noticed places that have some black stuff filling the joints. What would you recommend?.

    "Grout"?

I agree. I happen to have a brand new diamond wet-saw and will do that tomorrow. I'll just fix the thing myself since I don't think this guy is coming back anytime soon.

    "Grout"?

This is how it looked after they poured it. there would have been a rough jolt going through the door with a load on a forklift. The garage is on the left. Ramp is on the right.

Gave him a call Friday and he said "I'll be there tomorrow"(never showed then either). I figure if someone is that untrustworthy, It's a high probability...

    "Grout"?

My concrete man was supposed to put a little cut-back between these poles so that, when the roll-door is down, water doesn't come under the door into the shop. Well, he forgot to do it. So he sent a worker out the next day with a diamond saw and did this...... He says he will come back and put...

Preparing the ground to pour a slab

Yeah I bought a brand new compactor, wasn't aware that it was not an adequate one.

Preparing the ground to pour a slab

Shot it with the rotary laser again yesterday evening and it's still dead-on. The self leveling feature is nice. I loaded up my little yanmar tractor and will take it to the site Monday I'm going to try moving some of the dirt with a small box blade. After that I might put one of the land...

    Pole Barn End

To close in the end of my 72x32x16 pole barn, I'm thinking of buying two more 8x8 poles go on the end for supporting the framing. I'm thinking they will need to be about 22' long, with 4' of that in the ground in concrete, and I'll need to do this before I can pour my slab. If so, how would you...
