I did some more research and found out that the lazer sight should work well since I already have the same name brand opener. I have used the tennis ball technic in the past, but I dont want a tennis ball hanging from the ceiling again. I will let you know how it works out. Thanks
I just bought a 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab that is just over 19' long. It fits in my garage fine, but it is tight. I have a firewood rack in front of it and if I give myself 2" of clearance between the garage door and the drop hitch it leaves me just enough room to walk in front of the truck...
It does the job pretty decent. I was out there when we had the extreme cold (10 below for the high) and it ran almost non stop to begin with, but once everything in the garage started warming up it would shut off for about 5 minutes before kicking back on. I had it set on 50 degrees. Once I get...
Here are some pics of the Heater. It is a 45000 btu Heatstar that I picked up from a friend of mine. He got it as a gift and never used it and I bought it for $225. A hundred dollars later and I have heat!!! I love being able to go out in the garage and do something in the middle of winter.
Here are a few more pics of my garage. I have plans to add at least 10-12 dual 8ft flouresent lights. This coming fall I will put insulation in the attic and add a sink with a spigot so that I can wash my vehicles inside during the winter. A couple of months ago I finally got my garage heater...
I have been on this site getting ideas for a while now and I have finally decided to share my garage. It is a work in progress and very unorganized, but it is getting better and better. When we decided to build a house in this neighborhood the covenants stated that outbuildings were not allowed...
Checkout Craigslist for a heater. I see them on there once in a while. I got lucky and bought a new one from a friend of mine for $225. It cost me about another $100 in materials to install it myself and I saved quite a bit. My garage is 1250 sq ft and I have a 45000 btu heater and it does fine...
OK, I talked with a tech at Mr Heater and he thought that it might be a transformer which sounded good to me since the transformer is $11 and a board is $47. I got the transformer installed yesterday and it fired right up! I will try to have pics posted today. Thanks everyone for all your help.
I am bummed out big time. I was finishing up my installation by ziptiying wires in place, putting the cover on and cutting the excess threaded rod when the heater shut off. It kicked on and off a couple times and I saw a spark shut down. I pulled the cover and saw that the thermostat wire was...
I know that as well as anyone since I used to assemble machines and we commonly had new parts that didnt work. This thermostat was so basic that there wasnt much to go wrong with it. I have a programable thermostat from my last house that I kept, but I cant for the life of me find it. Until I...
Thanks Red Green. I love it. I still have to install my 8' flouresent lights, install a sink, and insulate the attic, but at least I can go out and use it now.
I appreciate the help, but I actually got through to someone this morning after waiting on hold for 20 minutes. As most of you thought it was something simple....bad thermostat. The tech had me take the thermostat off and twist the wires together (like someone here had suggested and I didnt do...
I am beginning to think that I need a new board too. I tried calling their tech line today but they were closed. They are open tomorrow till noon so I will try to call them and see what they come up with.
