What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Changed the self drive cable on a Honda lawnmower for my landlord as he's on vacation, and I don't feel like pushing, lol. about a 20 minute job not knowing what I was doing exactly, but easy enough. The OEM cable was 22 bucks from amazon.

    Craftsman 24967 ratchet

Here is the aforementioned set, next to a same count piece (153) mechanics set of the same era. I remember buying this red set, and putting it in the shed at my parents property, thinking it would be a good set out away from my main box. In over a decade, it may have been used once. I am...

    Craftsman 24967 ratchet

Bumping an old thread, can/will add a photo when I can snap one in daylight tomorrow. Curious if anyone has any knowledge on price of a 153 piece universal craftsman kit. LNIB, was bought and stored away over a decade ago and forgotten about until this past weekend. Similar to the set...

What kind of tools have you found in the road??

Passed on some rubber tarp straps yesterday as it was unsafe to stop. Really don't need them anyway, was more about getting the S hooks out of the travel lane. I use that road frequently and don't need one through my tire. Haven't seen anything real good lately, but I keep my eyes peeled!

Time to replace my worn out Craftsman Impact Sockets

Some good suggestions here. I will say Ive got the deep metric Icon impacts and have been pleased. I don't use them too often but am glad to have them for the times I do. I'd like to find an older set of Craftsman USA made impacts for my collection going forward but am not in a hurry. Some...

Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT New Digs, New Goals, and a Blank Canvas

Looks beautiful, especially the sunrise/set. Enjoy this new chapter with your loved ones. & don't forget, although it doesn't sound like you have, the "good times" aren't always sometime in our past, they're usually right now without us even knowing it. Keep up the great work brother!

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Thanks all, looks like I may be buying a jack and some new stands this weekend! Might have to take a ride to NH for a tax free purchase, although the gas will probably eat the savings lmao. glad I asked the collective!

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-low-profile-superduty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-metallic-red-73106.html?event_id=184614 Is $40 off the best they offer these days, or best to keep waiting? Some of the comments talk about $100 off coupons not too long ago in 2025. I don't need this...

Used Snap-On electric impact - Bad idea?

If you're set on the snap on version and not a similar equivalent, why not buy once, cry once? Start saving up if necessary, and reward yourself with a nice new tool that you will take care of and keep in better shape than it sounds like you are seeing for sale second hand. A dealer may also...

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

You got a steal from the sounds of things, I wish I'd seen this. Same thing is $100 more right now. Thanks for the reply. I dont understand the whole response but am also not a Milwaukee aficionado by any means so am not well versed on the nuances between versions. My last hand electric 18v...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

It never ceases to amaze me what folks on GJ do in regular garages, not professional shops, all over the world. Love this spirit, it drives me to continue on, especially on those days my spirit and will are tested by my formal knowledge or skills/training. Keep up the great work, and I look...

    Milwaukee Power Tools Deal Permathread

I'd love to get that kit for $150. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a fuel ratchet deal. Didn't even realize the other 2 pieces in that bundle were fuel and the ratchet was not. Not even sure my homeowner use needs would justify the difference but food for thought I suppose. Thanks for...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Determined by pulling all spark plugs that cylinder 1 is leaking around the spark plug tube seal into the tube. I replaced this valve cover only approximately 4k miles ago because cylinder 5 was having this issue. It will be easier to do the job in July than it was in January, however I am not...
